Liu Kang returns as Undead Liu Kang
It indeed takes place in Outworld
Prepare for multi-kombatant mayhem 2v2, 1v5 and so on
There's no need to post these as spoilers when we all know that nothing's been confirmed. I changed the thread title to state that these are merely ideas and nothing more.

Well, I don't know if this really qualifies for spoilers, but I'll go with it and just give the post the benefit of the doubt.

I got Shaolin Monks for Christmas, and I've been playing around with that.
I was mucking around in versus mode just to check out some of the characters I'd unlocked, and happened upon Shao Kahn's arena (with two fighting suits of armor in the fight), and I've gotta say... not sure if I like the multiple combat concept.

I don't know... I guess it's really got a lot of potential, but can it be executed effectively? I guess I'm a big fan of the WWE Smackdown! games, so there's definitely a potential there.

I guess I'd just resist the change to the good ol' one on one format.

Wouldn't surprise me if it made it into the game, though, and in light of most of the "tournaments" since the first, it would certainly put an end to a lot of confusion and debate. Having a six way fight, y'know... better depicts the fact that it isn't really a tournament in structure.

Well i read in an interview with Boon in an issue of PSM when they did a cover story on MKD that they (midway) was not going to rest on just one thing, the challenge they said was keeping things fresh for the series. I think that the multiple fighting styles is played out, they didn't take it much further in MKD, becuase they focused on the Death Traps, Konquest and other modes like the tetris and Chess.

I think the vurses mode in MKSM was an expiriment, they still had the diffirent fighting styles, but they were gelled in together so that you did not have to switch and it was not clunky, but smooth and you could link combos easily. They could do it for the next MK game, certianly keeping things fresh, and it would be easy to have alot of characters and stages. And allow for more than a one v. one situation for multiplayer. 2 v. 2 or any combination of them.

We don't know yet. No one knows anything for certain yet, because Midway hasn't confirmed anything about the game. Anything that anyone writes about MKA is pure speculation at this point. Hell, the idea that its called Armageddon is speculation at this point. Before it became Deadly Alliance, MK5 was known as Vengeance prior to its release; that was a little more than speculation, and it was still wrong.

Besides, we already know that if Liu Kang is coming back it will be as a regular old human being again, since that is what his ending pointed to and also what is most likely given certain factors, like fan support for the angle.

And the chances of there being greater than one-on-one kombat is unlikely. One-on-one is the staple in all fighting games at the moment, always has been and still is to this day, in DOA, Tekken, KOF, all those Capcom vs. games and Soul Calibur. I don't think the way to make fighting games better is to just up the number of kombatants participating in one fight. Quality over quantity.

Quality over Quantatiy is not correct i hate it!

As somebody commented i also loved the flow of MKSM verse mode very easy and fun to use the only bad thing was the computer Oni/Guards that would attack you.

maybe have a new charater kill and mame millna after baraka pays him to do it, making him edena's most wanted..and wile their chasing after him for killing 'katana', havik and radin go on a killing spree, all the wile, the one being is trying to kill everything as well, only the good guys, who havn't been drawn into this mess, are fighting the one being, haggered and in poor spirts, but knowing it's do or die.

now that sounds like a winner.
