posted06/09/2014 11:28 PM (UTC)byAsesinoIs it me or MK 2011 has kooler cinematics ? The fighting is so fluid in these videos, but the fight between Scorpoin and Sub Zero in MK x seem to have missing animations and looks rigid.
Check them out and them compare and say what you think homies :

Yeah the MKX animation was very robotic. I'll save any worry though until after I see actual gameplay.

I doubt there's reason to worry. They are still using the same version of unreal 3 that they've been working with since MK vs DCU. Doubt they'd take that huge a step back. But I will say, I like the more natural speed, and the weight their blows carry is very brutal.
**edit** ugh, maybe I'll learn to read everything one day. But the mk9 cinematic looks very much like the mocap/imaging was done in house. The company they outsourced to probably just made the animations from scratch.

I'm sure you're correct.
Speaking of, anyone else find it weird that we got absolutely no game footage in the trailer? I went and looked at every E3 trailer from MKD-MK9 and they all featured gameplay footage...all except MKX.

As long as the actual in game cutscenes in MKX look better than MK9 who cares? Did you see the teeth in MK9?

I thought the same thing. But CGI intros/trailers have always been one of NRS' strong suits. I still get a warm fuzzy feeling whenever I think about Deception's intro.

Deception's intro was such a well done cinematic.
And to the OP, are you talking about gameplay or cinematics? I know Ed Boon said that the teaser was a pre-rendered trailer but I think it was teasing us more about gameplay, and not about what cinematics will look like. It still looked like a fighting game match.

I'm hoping for cinematic endings, way better than stills and a story-teller. NRS can make them way better than MK4s.

Ten years later and the Deception intro hasn't aged a day. That's crazy. Very good cgi.
