Maximilians Opinions on MKX Netcode

posted04/12/2015 07:56 PM (UTC)byKenshiMaster16Thoughts? For what it's worth, I value this guys opinion. Shame, was hoping it'd be better.
Netkode feels the same as Injustice on XB1.
— maximilian (@maximilian_) April 11, 2015For those curious and couldna39;t figure out the tweet, MKX on XB1 feels like Injustice online.
— maximilian (@maximilian_) April 11, 2015Game is awesome. But playing online sucked the fun right out of it. Gonna wait for local matches or hope the PS4 version runs better.
— maximilian (@maximilian_) April 11, 2015Just for the sake of data. I played about 35 matches, between Rooms/Ranked. Lost 2 games. 3 or so had a decent connection, able to do combos

Some players are saying the Netcode is good others are saying it's bad. Look's like we'll have to just wait and see and hope for the best.

Everyone always has a different experience with these things.
But generally, never trust anyone named "Maximilian."

Its always the netcode's fault, never anybody's internet connection ;)
I will just wait and see for myself, idk who this guy is or why I should care about what he has to say, so im taking it with a grain of salt, even if I wouldn't be all that surprised.

@ Tiger and Blade; Max is a big name in the fighting genre with a lot of good insight. He's recently got hired to work on Killer Instinct. He's new to the MK franchise but entirely credible. If you enjoy fighting games as a genre, I'd look into it. He streams and has several youtube channels.

Netcode definitely makes a difference.
I don't have a great connection, but KI's netcode is so smooth most matches play with zero lag. Sure, there's a few disconnections here and there for me, but 80% of the time it's very smooth.
Injustice on PS3 wasn't too bad, but I was definitely hoping for something better than just an "okay" netcode.

He wasn't saying it was on XB1, he was clarifying which version of MKX he played and was giving a comparison in terms of how it played for him. He's stated on streams he's getting all 3 versions; XB1, PS4 and PC.

Nice ill check it out and see whats up, but ill still hold out hope that it will at least be a little better than Injustice lol
@KungLaoDoesntSuck: Yeah I know netcode makes a difference but I think people forget that it isn't always the netcode,'s fault sometimes peoples internet connections can just be bad or acting up at the moment.

lol You'll probably enjoy his stuff. He streams a TON of KI but he does lots of MK9, Injustice, SF and other fighting games as well and tends to do other genre's now and then. His main channel, Maximilian Dood, on youtube houses a shit ton of MK stuff. He and his friends just recently went through every main MK game leading up to Tuesday and he put up videos of them playing it. It was the first time he ever experienced the 3D era and his first reaction to a lot of the characters and gameplay elements are hilarious to watch.
The guy is hype as fuck and has been championing MKX since getting to play it at E3. I'm also hearing mixed signals about the netcode but it's definitely worrying hearing it come from him. Here's hoping for the best though. He's buying all 3 versions so that he can stream playing the best overall version so he's definitely still all-in on MKX which is good to hear.

I wouldnt really trust Max opinion too much.
He is so anal about frames, pixels, netcode etc. that the littlest problem in 1 match means for him "not acceptable".
Wouldnt take his word too serious.
So far nobody has big problems than Max...

Well they're playing MKX tonight in the background on PS4 while his friend Simmons plays MK: Mythologies. He says PS4 seems to be a bit better but they all still play similar to Injustice for him, so I guess that's not as bad as it could be.
On a more positive note, besides the netcode, he says the game is amazing, the characters are fluid and it's incredibly fun to play. I believe he's going to be streaming it Tuesday morning right at launch.
