With the classic skin, you can bet your ass he's fire god / scarred / undead and possibly blood demon or a combination of these.

That's at least good news for people who want more evil, since Liu Kang will at least be neutral or indifferent.

Or he just has a new costume as seen in the Tower pic of him.
He doesn't really look evil in that pic, and his pose looks peaceful.
