i was waiting for tarkatans to come out and start snatching people like the magazine said. im thinking maybe it was taken out since we havent seen the baraka redesign. i hope they do freshen up the tarkatan design in general. like i saw someone say that they should all have more individuality. baraka looks exactly like the rest of em, i'm not racist though.

His ending showed some diversity within the race.

Not much, but it's there. And it's enough to conclude NRS would differentiate them in a situation when needed. As for that portal, I'm also intrigued. I found myself staring at the backgrounds more so than the fights numerous times during the stream. They're all astounding! Can't wait to see what these backgrounds have to offer. Especially them stage fatalities....that we have not seen YET!

I would love to see more of that female Tarkatan. Or else it would make a great starting point for a Mileena costume. Ditto the one on the right with the horns for Baraka.

The two new levels knocked my socks off. They are almost to the point of being distracting they look so good.

Yeah those dual-claws are neat-looking. I was actually surprised that MK9 Mileena's toilet paper costume didn't include blades...at least for grins 'n giggles if nothing else. I mean that's what that whole design was anyways, lol. I know she's never had them before, but in a world with cybernetic enhancements, soul placement/displacement, sorcerers, 25,000 year life spans, four-armed dragons/humans, and the numerous gods, you'd think getting those blades wouldn't be a problem. If she wanted them, at least.

I disagree the Destroyed City seems to be pretty boring with only 2 dogs and a bum being animated.

They DID show that. Look at the stream again. A tarkatan runs out and gets put down by the soldier.

The portal part of the stage was a nice element to it.

I noticed that too, the entire time it was happening I was thinking "GO LEFT DAMMIT!" lol

Also, this could increase the chances that Baraka makes it onto the main roster,
since they clearly have the Tarkatan model already on the disc.

It's not very animated but the amount of detail in the destruction of the city is pretty impressive from what I saw.

You know, after seeing the 2 dogs attacking that guy, when I saw that portal and no hint of animals in that stage I though "ok, if the Kove's animality is comming from the water, this scenario's animality is definitelly arriving from that portal".

I think Baraka has a slim chance and hoping he won't be in on the main roster. Preferably DLC.

Stage Animality should have a big fucking Leviathan coming out of the portal, snatching the opponent.

I think Baraka is prime DLC material because he's not popular enough to have to be on the initial roster but popular/iconic enough that he would be highly requested for DLC. I think Smoke and Jade fit into that category as well.

If secret character fights are returning to this game, I can definitely see this stage setting up for one with someone walking out of the portal.

That would be cool to see, let's say, Classic Noob Saibot again (hypothetically speaking) walking out of there and he's just waiting for you to win the match.

I think that with Baraka it would work the other way. He is stablished enough that if he's in the main roster people could still admit it because he has been around for a long time, but I don't think he's popular enough on his own to pay extra money to have him in the game.

At least IMO he's just a regular tarkatan (even the tarkatans in his MK9 endings are cooler than him) and doesn't have much flavor apart from "I'm a member of this race". Goro and Kintaro for example are special compared with other shokans, Baraka is a regular tarkatan with a name.

In the final weeks prior to MKD's release, our Gamestop used Baraka and Scorpion as the poster boys/marketing men.

The only thing I liked about Baraka is his MK9 alt. He doesn't have much to offer. Guess we'll have to see if he makes it.
