A lot of people are conspicuous by their absence. Reiko goes unseen, and we only catch a brief glimpse of Johnny.

We learned nothing of Scorpion, D'Vorrah, or Ferra/Torr's stories either.

It focused a lot on Cassie and the other descendants, and Kotal.

Quan Chi was mentioned by Forrest Fox while under the influence of the dagger (also by a Red Dragon goon talking to Sub-Zero).

The first part of the game will probably feature the Netherealm forces a lot, we've been shown the "4 protagonists" of Raiden's ending a lot in the story trailer, but we will see more from the other guys.

Also, with Rain here we know that having old costumes in the comics doesn't mean you're out so still hopes for Reiko!! (and Kenshi given how you need someone to fight on Earthrealm side during the NR war).

Yeah it's interesting. I think that the scenes with Quan Chi in Story Mode are too important and will give a lot away if shown. I think it was done on purpose.

Pay attention to the part where the crazy blood majik soulnado bursts through the roof of a temple and spills all over the sky.

That's a Kamidogu going into meltdown. Hell, this could be a glimpse of the One Being scenario.


I believe that's our biggest hint as to what's the final arc of the story is going to be about and who the big bad is.


All the scenes that are shown afterwards have a heavy red filter going on. The scenes appear to show Cassie and her crew fighting their way up to the temple.

First, they're surrounded and attacked by Kotal's forces (I thought they were allies before? Is this fucking Argus' Pyramid all over again?)

Then, they're shown fighting the two revenants, who are Sindel and someone who might be Kitana, but considering that we've already seen both of Kitana's costumes, and she appears to be alive and well, I'm leaning towards the idea that it's Mileena after she gets rekt in the second arc.


If my analysis is correct, then the two revenants are preventing Cassie and her team from getting into the temple.

I was thinking the exact same thing about Mileena, specially considering that we know what Kitana's alternate looks like.

Quan Chi is probably doing his usual stuff.

I think that could be Kitana before she's brought back to life... remember when they were discussing sketches for Kitana and they were thinking of ideas for what a "darker" Kitana would look like? This scene could be taking place earlier in the story mode before she's brought back to life.
