Think quite a few people missed this info so I'm posting it here... Kitana's three variations are:

Royal Storm- All about zoning with her trademark razor-edged fans.

Assassin- Is primarily focused upon rush-down attacks to cover ground and get up in your opponent's face.

Mournful- A fighting style that sees Kitana busting out special attacks using the glaive and staff of her close friend, Jade.

As reported by PlayStation Trophies, link here.

And pointed out by me halfway down the page here.

We will in two or three weeks. Tyler Lansdowne had said during out last stream an I quote "Kitana and Reptile will be our next stream", or at least something around those lines.

I know it is far too early to call it, but from what we've seen so far, this is the best iteration of Kitana since forever!

She seems to play exactly as I've always envisioned her: an aerial combatant, with an arsenal of killing moves as befits her assassin training, and she prioritizes fluid kicks over punches. Love her cat-like crouch when she lands after her square wave attack.

MK9 came close to a nice representation of Kitana's fighting style, but her model design and some of her aerial animations were too distracting. I think MKX will succeed where MK9 failed, and then some!

I'm pro-Mournful as a variation. Mourning seems to be something of a Kitana storyline-staple: her MK:DA ending made a point to show her attend Goro's funeral. I suppose Edenians, with their longer lifespans, experience longer periods of mourning, so much so that Kitana is preserving Jade inside her, unwilling to let her go, even adopting Jade's own fighting style. It's quite beautiful!

I have to wonder if this is NRS's apology for their terrible treatment of the character in MK9 from a design/storyline perspective. Perhaps this game will return Kitana to her MK2-MK3 glory. Squee!
I really do like Kitana incorporating staff in her ' Mournful ' variation ... it pays some respect to her complex and long lasting friendship that she'd shared with her best friend and comrade with whom she grew during Khan's patronage ... it' s an act of noble homage to her fallen ally ...besides, they've both been trained as a professional assassins for thousands of years, so it makes sense that they are more than proficient in not just one weapon style ... i could easily imagine both of them being an artists with swords, staff, fans, daggers .... it is just their weapon of choice that eventually made them recognizable as they are ... Kitana and Jade ...it doesn's feel like Jade from what i've seen in her gameplay ... it still feels like Kitana ( look at her bluish trail ) ...

Btw, how do you guys feel about her gameplay ? I think she is rather fluid, elegant and fast with a great mixture of fans involving combos and nice set of acrobatic kicks ... I'm really thrilled to play her ... it is, by far, the most creative and enjoyable incarnation of the Princess ... :) :) :)
