I was reading through Kitana's section on the wikipedia website and came across this little tidbit of information...

"Unfortunately, Mortal Kombat II is apparently Kitana's last appearance as a feasible character (at least until Mortal Kombat: Armageddon)"

"Kitana was one of the worst characters in Deadly Alliance, hence relieving her temporarily in Mortal Kombat: Deception. She is likely to return in the next Mortal Kombat game with different fighting styles and fan designs."

To me it sounds promising that we could possibly see Kitana in MK: Armageddon! Whether or not it's bullshit is up to you, but I'm believing it.
