All they need to do is downplay the feline features so he doesn't look so ridiculous and more fearsome again as he did in MK2. It's like they are forgetting he is a Shokan when designing him.

I feel it should be the other way around. Make him look alot more feline, give him an actual tiger head and a long tail, pointy ears and such. A beard would be a nice touch too.

Kintaro in MK9 was my favorite incarnation of the character. His feline-like design finally made him stand out from Goro and Sheeva. If he wasn't the easiest subboss in the game, who you could defeat with Double Flawless on the hardest difficulty, I would've liked even more.
On the other hand, bosses were not the strongest points of MK9.
If hew was included in the MKX I'd prefer him to keep his design, just to piss of haters.

We haven't seen one MK4-MKD character yet who knows how many we will even see..and people want Kintaro in MKX?

I'm just having a hard time understanding why? I mean if he has potential in some people's eyes okay but even though we have PLENTY of characters to be shown roster space isn't unlimited..

I wouldn't mind a couple more bulky characters but i'd prefer if they were entirely new.

I was going to say the same thing. If it wasn't for the extra set of arms I wouldn't even think they belonged to the same species. Typical of NRS they go too far in one direction, they need to bring it back and make him look less like a mutated tiger.

I've never liked him, always seen him as a bad Goro copy. So the more he differs from Goro, the better.

Which is a good thing, because before he was just a bigger Goro with stripes.

We'll I think he looked different enough from Goro to tell that he was supposed to be Shokan just a different kind. Now he looks like some kind of mistake Digimon.

I'd say either pull back a bit in the design, find a happier medium between MKII and MK2011 or do what J-R said and just give us full tiger no Shokan.

I liked his appearance from the last game though. He reminds me of Sully from Monsters Inc. Cute and cuddly then very ferocious when needed.

I absolutely loved his design in Armageddon. I loved his armor and his appearance. I feel like that's an underrated look. At the end of the day Kintaro is my baby and I wish he would have been the pre-order bonus instead of Goro...but now Goro looks awesome so I want him to stay lol. If they could really make Kintaro stand out from Goro this time around then I'd love if Kintaro could return as maybe DLC. Or perhaps best- He could get his time to shine in MK11. There are WAAAAY too many MK4-MKD characters I want to see in before him.

Goro kicks ass, Kintaro kicks ass, and there's no reason why they need to be constantly compared. MK9's Kintaro was great; they did a decent job of showing he was from a subspecies of Shokan.

I don't get why people keep bringing up that old tiger-in-karate-gi artwork. It looks far too benevolent to belong to one of Kahn's chief henchmen. If anything, he should appear as bloodthirsty and vicious as possible.

This again? Have the people who thought Kintaro looked too cute in MK9 ever looked at an actual tiger's face? What is it about Kintaro's face in MK9 that some think made it so much cuter than a tiger's, thus less scary?

I thought he looked fierce, personally. His rather calm-sounding voice and facial expressions made his savagery seem even scarier, actually. His blank expression combined with those vicious eyes as he rips you apart.

I think he looked intimidating when he was slowly approaching Stryker and Kabal, burned Kabal to a crisp, and calmly said "Humans. Less ugly when they burn".

I like both the old Kintaro and the new one. Admittedly, I'm not sure Kintaro's new face and calm-yet-savage fully suit Kintaro's character, because even though we didn't exactly know much about his personality and still don't, before MK9 he seemed much more...aggressive, like his old face would imply. But nonetheless, Kintaro in MK9 looked and acted fierce, just differently so.

This whole thing about Kintaro being too cute is a little reminiscent of the complaints about the latter ANOES movies being too funny. If people imagined themselves dying in those supposedly too funny ways, they might realize how disturbing it'd actually be. Now imagine you had to fight the adorable Kittentaro in real life.

They should allow players to choose between both heads, if Kintaro returns. Best of both worlds. And that quote from the third paragraph should be used in some of Kintaro's intros.

Kintaro won't be in MKX. And he looked best in Shaolin Monks.
