Kharacters Assists: Deconfirmation or Confirmation

If you watch the stream you notice certain characters were listed with Assists by their name. Immediately one might jump to the conclusion this mean the character will not making it in. Then you take a step back and look specifically at who exactly has name by these assists.

Smoke
Frost
Cyrax
Kabal
Rain
Stryker

These are some pretty popular characters here. It doesn't mean all from that list could be DLC. I don't see them as being assists immediately meaning they are deconfirm.

I would say deconfirmation. Are there any assists for playable characters?

I think it's neither a confirmation or deconfirmation, I remember Sektor's missiles were in MK9 as sort of an assist in test your luck and he was still in the game.

So I think it's just a name and nothing more.

Same here. Specially if the Reptile one is true (need to watch that part yet).

In any case, the frost one doesn't refer to the character frost but to combos getting an actual frost property. It's not a character assist, it's your combos freezinf the target.

I think assist means nothing.........But I do not think any of these characters will be playable in the main roster..Which suucks..

Their existence isn't a deconfirmation, but the fact that they specifically chose 3 of them felt like it was a deconfirmation because it quells the speculation that was happening when we heard of 'Cyrax bombs' from IGN and stuff.

It's "Acid Rain". Nothing to do with Reptile.

I think it's deconfirmation which would cut down the list of DLC characters significantly if you think about it it looks we are going to get pretty much trilogy only characters so who is left and popular enough for DLC; Baraka, Noob, Shang, sindel..... Not to many options left for those two klassic kombatants in the kombat pack! Given how fast the leaks are coming I reckon we will know who they will be before the end of March!

They said dlc will not be mk 1-3 only.

As a fan for the majority of these characters, I'd honestly prefer to not have them referenced in any manner besides story mode. If it's just for the sake of throwing a bone, it's more of a tease to me than anything else.

NPC in story mode is a tease too, but at least they'll have some sort of canonical contribution to it.

For now I'm hoping for hope. I'll take Rain and Smoke, thank you.

I think Frost touch and Frost shield don't have anything to do with Frost the character. The others could just be a way to re-use old moves in a fun new way. I don't think we'll see any of them on the main roster, but I wouldn't discredit them being DLC.
