Why can't it be both? or do you mean beat-em up or adventure game.

After MK:DA and MK:D, I'm actually looking more forward to another game like MK:SM than a new fighter.

I would like the next MK game to be an:

ADVENTURE with the style of LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER.

Honestly, the beat-them-up adventure in shaolin Monks was fun and all but something new is required. They had some very interesting and neat ideas for Special Forces but they were all scrapped in the end, leaving a very unfinished project.

The next game should focus on the following 3 characters:

Sonya
Johnny Cage
Rayden

Those should be the main fighters you play around and each following a different storyline, BUT there could be paths/side missions were playing as other characters is required. For example:

Sub-Zero fighting Scorpion
Quan Chi escaping hell
Mileena playing to be Kitana
Etc.

A decent adventure with high quality graphics and long enough to make us feel it was worth the $.

Just what would you rather play

With the next mk, it being 60 players and character creation etc...

I would think an adventure game is going to come.
