I have wanted to see the daughter of Jade and Rain as a character. She would seek revenge for the death of her mother and eventually seek to destroy her father once she finds out that she is the product of assault. (little does she know it is actually Shang Tsung.)
My thought for process went like this:
They are clearly trying to focus more on the story in the games as shown by MKX and I think the assault could add a good story and depth to her character. In an already controversial - mature rated - game, I don't think its that far of a stretch. An off screen assault is no worse than an on screen fatality done by relatives or the implication of a character killing children. (Scorpions son.)
I think it could be something she has to deal with, overcome, and not stop her from being a badass in Mortal Kombat.
What do you think?

I really don't think this franchise needs a rape subplot... we're really in the business of good old fashioned gratuitous violence for our controversy around these parts.
Making Shang Tsung and/or Rain a rapist is just... too far over the grim and creepy line for my taste. Plus I know they're villains, but they have their fans... and that would be like, character assassination. I'm sure NRS probably sees value in not making their popular classic characters rapists. Murder is downright encouraged in the MK Universe, but... Rape's a bit harder to come back from.

The fan fiction goes into the "Fan submission" section not the "Mortal kombat x" section

I figured there would be a different group of people interested in what is crossing the line for Mortal Kombat than just the relatives of characters.
I don't mean this to focus on the fact that she is a relative, I mean this as to ask is her story something that Mortal Kombat would take on.
I see them as two separate topics.

This.
But hey, I feel ya man. I actually wanted Baraka to have off springs with Mileena and Kitana together in an awesome threesome. Is this too much for Mortal Kombat?! :O

I didn't even see that. I just read the daughter of Jade/Rain but now that I actually see this fuck no. That would be really unnecessary like Gillbob said. No thanks.

Is this a trick question?
Not seeing an egomaniac like Rain slumming with commoner Jade.
Not seeing Shang Tsung doing rape either: why the hell would he? He already has concubines left and right.
You are not handling this well, cheap drama through rape is generally frowned upon. It is the new Ben Reilly/Thomas, Martha Wayne....

Rain is an Edenian expat.
Jade is an Edenian loyalist.
I don't really see how this makes sense, and I don't really see rape as being an acceptable plot device.
Its like the constant threads saying "we need a gay/middle eastern/Brazilian/insert token minority here" threads. Why do we need to have it in just for the sake of having it in?

Something about rape reared its head here not to long ago. Like I said then, I'm against any inclusion of rape. The reason being, yes there's gore and murder, and utter brutality, but it's played up. Fatalities defy physics and physiology, and while gross and brutal they may seem, it's easy to shirk it off and say "Game over, I win."
Rape is an entirely different animal. It's far more intimate and personal. It doesn't fit the over-the-top nature of the series, because it is something that needs to be handled with tact which, even though I love the series, Mortal Kombat has very little of. I understand the idea to humanize or create a related fire within the player for revenge, but it's a line I'm not comfortable with the series crossing.

Better yet, Shang MAKES his own bitches right there in his Flesh Pits, whenever he pleases.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
Something all of us secretly wish we could do. ._.
The implication that he would ever care about any actual woman enough to pursue her, let alone rape her, is pretty out-of-character for him. Something all of us secretly wish we could do. ._.
Besides, Jade's parents fucking gave her away as tribute to Shao Kahn when she was a baby to do with as he pleases.
I'd argue that pretty fucked up in and of itself.
But you feel the need to go edgier? Why? Explain how that would benefit her character. Maybe there's just something I'm not seeing here.
Lastly, if you still feel the need to explore a potential rape subplot, there is no need to make one up, because there's one already: Sindel and Kahn.

It lets people relate in a way.

Yeah this is still a little too weird for my Mortal Kombat. I guess that's tough shit if they ever did it because my opinion means fuck all to the creators. I just think that rape is one of those things that doesn't really belong in a cheesy tribute to Kung-Fu and fantasy films/comics.
I know I already joked about this a couple of times but if Jade and Smoke had a child it'd be the most bullshit/broken moveset ever conceived.
We should just have a thread to try and create the most unbeatable movesets by pairing up two fighters.
