I agree....I really do. I hope there are more new characters.

It's tough to say.

Kun Jing (?) And D'Vorah have my interest. Ferra and Torr and Cassie as well.

Jax's daughter and Takeda didn't really excite me, however. MKDA had some of the worst new characters. Nitara, Frost, Kenshi, and Li Mei were all decent but the rest were awful. Deception was even worse with only Ashrah being tolerable. MK3 probably had the best crop of new characters. Sindel, Sektor, Cyrax, Nightwolf, Kabal, Ermac, Jade and Noob Saibot becoming unique.. Easily the best post MK2. MK4 was really meh. So I'd say it has a shot to have the most interesting group in recent memory.

Kotal, dvorah, Kung Jin, ferra/torr. Are my standouts. Possibly takeda

Agreed, this is easily one of the best roster of new characters ever since MK2.

I am absolutely loving most of the new comers, Kung Jin, Erron Black and Takeda. I can't take Cassie and Jacqui too seriously but I can live with that. I'm sure they are really great characters, but right now the others mentioned earlier have my most interest right now.

Kung Jin is pretty badass, he might be Kenshi status, as in staying for a little while in future titles IMO. I loved Green Arrow in Injustice, pretty sure that's how this guy came to be, they probably said... hey let's make an MK character like Green Arrow! bam.

Anybody saying yes are just speaking out of hype. Honestly? No. This isn't the best cast of newbies. Don't get me wrong- I love them ALL. But I just don't see some of them really going anywhere. The ones with true story potential imo are-

Takeda
D'Vora(Maybe, hopefully she's more than just a minion)

Everyone else- Jaqui, Kung-Jin, and Ferra/Torr- while awesome, I don't see truly being that interesting. Erron Black might go a long way because of his looks. But nah, this isn't the best cast of newbies. Not a bad batch, just not as great as some people are making it out to be.

Possibly but mk4 woukd still rank 1 imo. Only new character that sucked but he was ok imo was jarek. I think in mkx ferra torr and D'vorah are trash. Cassie and jacqui are cool i guess but kotal, takeda, kung jin, and erron are freakin awesome.

This games new characters are interesting. I am excited for all of them.

My favorite with NEW characters was MK2 then MKDA and now MKX. MK Deception just got so flooded with stuff it took away from the experience.

I kinda hope that MK has characters die off more often. Even if I love them I'd like to keep the roster fresh. A ton or realms and characters from them gets too "busy". I like having a handful of realms and characters from them.

I'm fond of D'vorah simply because MK always needed a bug-themed character in my opinion and I'm relieved that Takeda doesn't seem 100% like his father and is strangely enough similar to Martian Manhunter regarding the Scorpion spears as stretchy limbs. I always thought of that going to Havik.

Couldn't agree more.And Kotal Kahn is the best of the newbies.And eventually as NS staff claimed in interviews we will see his rise and fall from power, potentially his demise.How ironic.

Other than MK2- UMK3/MKT I would say so. The other games have all introduced a few I have liked but none I liked instantly like with Kotal, Cassie, and Ferra/Torr.

I think MK2 has it beat, but it's definitely the best we've had in the last 20 years.

They are not teens. They are grown by the time it reaches the 25 yrs mark. That is obvious by the way they look and because Takeda, Jaquline, cassie are teens in the comic which is set 15 years after MK9. They are adults 10 years after that.

Anyway....

I like them. Cassie is a smart ass I love it. Erron looks awesome, takeda and Kung Jin look fun. Jaquline I'm not sure yet I'll have to see, more but I'm eager to try all new characters

Only one I'm not very excited about is Jax's daughter

In my opinion yeah this is the best roster of new characters, simply because it's the first time in the series that I'm either intrigued by or excited to play as each and every one of the newcomers.

There's not a one that I can say "I'm not really interested in ------ and won't be playing as him/her"; I'll be trying them all out and actually want to know more about them.

The last new characters that made me want to know about them were Havik, Hotaru & Onaga in Deception, and before them Bo'Rai Cho, Frost Kenshi & Nitara in DA, and Fujin, Meat, Quan Chi, Reiko, Shinnok & Tanya in MK4.

In short: This is the best roster of newcomers yet, in my opinion anyway, because I've never liked all the new characters in previous series entries, there's always been at least one new character I haven't liked for one reason or another.

Impossible to say if they are the best characters, they do have some neat designs though.

But with the comic acting as filler, I do think Kotal and Cassie are the stand outs right now in terms of solid character development. Erron has the whole gunslinger thing going for him so he sells himself on the look alone. Let's just hope he's fun to play as.

When it comes to the new recruits for the Special Forces, Takeada's armor and the steal whips/cables he uses definitely make him stand out. And his ties to Scorpion and Kenshi help him feel like he's relevant.

Kung Jin has a unique look, I don't know if I'd necessarily call it "monk" but it helps him stand out among the rest of the group. I love his fatality and how his gameplay really does center around the bow. So I'm certainly getting an Arrow vibe from him. I just hope he's Kung Lao's son and not nephew or a very, very young cousin. I feel like giving Kung Lao a legit heir takes the pressure off him of being the "last living descendant of the Great Kung Lao". That can't be his sole schtick forever, so if Jin is his kid, that's good for Lao.

Jacqui is the one I'm most skeptical on, simply because we've really only seen an x-ray for her and that's it. She's got robotic enhancements on her arms, that look like they have flamethrowers attached on the forearms, so I want to see more of her in action.

D'Vorah and Ferra/Torr have their strong points as well. D'Vorah being the first insectoid character in MK I think and pulling off that concept rather well. Definitely has kind of a Swarm Queen feel. And Ferra/Torr just has the odd factor going for them with the big brute silhouette with the little girl on top.

If nothing else the newcomers certainly have much stronger concepts and personalities than a lot of the 3D era characters like Li Mei, Dairou, Darrius, Movado, Tanya, etc.

So I guess we just have to wait and see what the reception is going to be during the game's lifespan and if this batch of 8 new characters brings enough interest to be kept around. I think 5 to 6 of them certainly seem like they will.

I'm looking forward to the fighting styles of the new characters that were revealed in the story mode. I like the cast in this game

Hate to be a downer but it's nowhere near the best cast of debutantes in any regard. Anyway, I'm far more intrigued by the beastlier characters than the human ones (with the possible exception of Black).

I saw a trailer still of Takeda, Kung Jin, Jacqui and Cassie all together and it looked like the MK version of Team America: World Police.

On a basis of total aesthetic, I'd say Jacqui and Ferra-Tor are among the weakest, but I don't know their backgrounds or have I experienced their playstyles, which I would say are strong factors as well.

I absolutely love Erron Black, Kung Jin, and Kotal Kahn's designs.

I'm indifferent towards D'vorrah and Cassie as of now.
