So we have some users overreacting because they don't like Erron Black being compared to Noob, a character they don't like. Then we have some users overreacting because they don't like Noob Saibot being compared to Erron, a character they don't like. On a side note I do see what you mean. Noobs popularity increased tremendously during Deception and exploded when that first Noob Saibot trailer was revealed. His results in each annual Ultimate Kombat Champion display just how popular he is. In the tournament taking place Erron and Noob just went head to head. For a new character to make it this far in the polls is not for nothin'. So, while they are different, the two characters "edgyness" and their immediate impacts are very comparible. I like them both and hope to see them square off proper in the next installment.

To be fair...he was thrown into a soulnado, which is something that SCORPION could permanently die from.

People kind of like to forget why Scorpion would have had his body destroyed from that. It wasn't the soulnado itself that would have ripped him apart, but where it took him to.
If he had gone to the heavens that would have destroyed his hellish body. No one ever said anything about it killing him though.

Erron Black is the first Erron Black. And much more interesting than Noob Saibot.

I still don't get why at this point you people think what is written for these characters is more important than anything else. Noob Saibot is a pretty menacing evil character and has a lot more going for him gameplay wise, thematically and aesthetically than the Sand Man.

They`re both ninjas that did some work for Shang Tsung at some point.

Erron is motivated by MONEY, whoever pays, he works for.

Noob has his own agenda, but doesn`t work for money. Bi-Han only wanted money one time.

Erron wasn`t a secret character with no initial story, who turned out to be an old character.

Anyway, I really don't get the comparison in terms of story, character or even move set. Noob Saibot represents the MK of old with another goofy palette swap that eventually became a fleshed out character. Erron Black seems like Boon(or somebody) read The Gunslinger and decided to make a similar character. He's pretty dry as a character, but his move set and ability to break face as a high tier character is why most people care about him.

Erron is Erron, a mysterious outlaw who takes jobs for money.
Noob is Noob, brother of Sub-Zero and is stripped of all that made him good.

No, I don't think Erron is the new Noob Saibot, I always thought of them as 2 way different characters who just happen to have that ''mysterious'' ''cool'' factor. I love both very much, but never as replacements or anything.
