Well if it's true it confirms Mileena, Baraka and Ermac will be in the game which i don't think is that surprising but i remember Ed saying that their were going to be more new characters than old but from what we're seeing it doesn't seem that case unless the roster is huge

Remember, just because a character has a voice actor doesn't mean they're part of the playable roster.

Baraka, Ermac, etc... are still alive and may just appear in story mode, not as playable characters. Just like how Shinnok had a voice actor but was not playable. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Yeah i was just thinking that but i mean they do seem like the most likely mk9 characters to return since all the other voices in the cast are from playable characters so far

Where I totally think a few 3D era characters deserve to make it in, maybe 1 or 2 from each game, that's only 3-6 slots and still plenty of room for new and Trilogy characters in the roster. Especially considering we now have 11 revealed (not including Goro). I just want each of the 3D games represented by AT LEAST one character (not including the Mythologies cast).

But by all means, if this is true, I wholly welcome back Baraka, Mileena and Ermac whether just as an appearance in story mode or fully playable. I especially hope I get to play the Kenshi/Ermac battles again in MKX.

Because he's not part of the initial roster, he's pre-order bait which technically counts as DLC.

They've changed their tune a bit and have been saying that its the most new characters in one game not more new characters than old.

I find it silly how people are saying "just because they're in the story doesn't me they will be playable in game" that's a foolish statement. Why would they have ermac baraka and Melena just voices for story and then unplayable? It makes sense for a goro or kintaro etc to be unplayable they are boss characters so its to expected most of the time for them to be unplayable. As for shinnok he of course he wasn't playable he wasn't in mk9 story. His cameo was for the follow up. My point is common sense should tell you who would be an expected playable and unplayable.

Besides the fact that NRS said there would be cameos in story mode, Um...maybe because they have important part in the story but aren't chosen on the roster because it takes a lot of thought, work, money to create a character with intro dialogues, 3 variations, endings, etc...when they have a set amount of money and time to create the game.


They might be playable in the game, they might not. That's all I'm saying, we don't know yet.

They've said there will be cameos in story mode, but never specified what sort of characters and to what extent they would be featured or who for that matter. So it's all speculation and until stated otherwise by the team, hardly silly. After all, these 'cameo' characters could fully well end up as DLC and at least then they'd have a voice instead of like MK9 where Skarlet, Rain and Kenshi just grunted.

yes I have played that game and it was one game that it happened 10 years ago this is a new age. They're treating this differently. The wouldnt put fan favs in as cameos and cameos alone in this new age of Mk. And it taking time and money is not a good enough excuse. They have the budget and knew what they were going to do with it before hand so the time frame is not an excuse either. Its safe to assume that work and direction started on this game months before it was even announced.

Time and money is the best excuse actually, they're the reason Armageddon was a mess. Exactly, they know what they want to do and in what time-frame to do it. Who's to say they don't want to have Ermac, Mileena or who-ever as an unplayable. They can do what they like. If they wanted they could have had Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden as the only returning characters with a brand new cast of characters but that obviously, is not what they did.
