I'd always liked the myth of the Battle of the Sans, I didn't remember that it came from Kano's MK1 ending though, I thought it was from the early 90's comics, good stuff.

I'd never thought of it as a title though, it does sound good, though the only problem would be that only the harcorest fans would know what it was.
Since Armageddon is probably gonna use the Battle of the Sans premise (I'm only speculating, don't give away any spoilers if you know the truth!) then they should mention it in the intro/storyline, maybe even show the Book of Destiny as well (from MKM:SZ's intro.)

“The Earth we know is gone...it was completely destroyed 5 years ago due to the cataclysmic events of Blaze. The Earth was left in my hands and I failed it and its people. I am trying to rebuild Earthrealm, revive it to its former glory. Luckily I have help from the remnants of the Lin Kuei and Special Forces...both suffered mass casualties from the Tekunin assault on the realm.

When the Earth was left in ruin...the Red and Black Dragon took full advantage and scouraged the Earth. Their little war had esculated far beyond comprehension. They’re clans have grown gargantoen in size and they fought over the spoils of Earth. Kira is now head of the Black Dragon but an ominous force is controling her...perhaps the warrior Kabal isn’t dead as I thought. The Red Dragon has a new leader, stronger and more powerful than the one known as Mavado. With the world split in three it is hard to see my rebuilding scheme coming into fruitation...

Though Raiden destroyed the portals during the events of armageddon, I have come to belive that the one to Outworld is not shut quite yet. I have seen with my eyes creatures known as Tarkatans wandering in large packs roaming about. When I and my champions, Stryker, Sonya, Sub Zero, and Kung lao, did battle with them...the last one shout just before he commited Hara Kiri “Long live the Queen of Outworld...” I have come to suspect that Shao kahn’s true daughter has taken Outworld for herself following the deaths of her father and the Dragon King Onaga.

But before we can deal with the problems of Outworld I must rebuild this realm back to the way it was...and that can never be done as long as the Dragon Clans are as strong as they are... Though we have lost complete contact with our long-time ally Edenia, an Edenian warrior named Jade is willing to help us spy on the Dragon clans to know of their intentions at all times. If Earth is going to be rebuilt and protected by me the Dragon Clans must be irraticated.”
