If we revamped Shujinko, would everybody stop hating him so much? His story had potential, and if we give him his own moves and fighting styles, he could have another Ermac success story.

I love him as he is. But yes, give him new moves.

I don't like him at the moment, but if they made him more serious - as the knowledgeable old master of kombat, he would probably grow on me. He could take over from Raiden as the leader of the good guys, guide them etc. I just see him as the old guy that can take down 30 opponents with little difficulty, if they made him legit instead of a joke like character. Perhaps he could even meditate during a fight, like an MKDA power-up.

First thing I'd have to do to like Shujinko is completely forget Konquest exists. Everything. I would therefore get Shujinko's whiney, 60-year old baby personality out of my head and be able to interpret him how I wish based only on his bios.
Then they'd need to give him new moves and fighting styles. Not Kung Lao's and the whole "absorbing others' fighting ability" is just lame. Shang Tsung is and thus far was the only one who could pull something like that off.
And finally they'd need to drop the "next generation Liu Kang" thing. Very few, if any, want him as the new main hero and the MK team should not force it on us.

I think that he has no potential to be the next-generation Liu Kang considering that there's Taven.
As for fighting styles, well, Shujinko could use Pai Mei Quan, the White Eyebrow style of Kung Fu. His look seems to be inspired by him anyway.

I really don’t see him living past Armageddon, I think he will make up for his mistake or die trying.
Giving him his own moves would be very good. He could still use the absorbing storyline, but use moves of his own. Gaining all of the kombatants powers makes him a fighting master, he wouldn’t even have the need to use special moves. His specials could be brutal bone breaking moves.

He is too old, he should complete his destiny of destroying Onaga, and try to convince the Elder Gods to restore his youth, and make him have better special moves. He is definatley NOT the next generation Liu Kang, it just won't work.

Restoring the youth is a good idea. The 30-year old Shujinko after the Chaos realm level in konquest looked bad-ass!

I know, he almost looked like Liu Kang. Thats what he should look like, that would be perfect MortalKombatRedemption!

No...
Mainly because the reason why I hate this particular character is how he made it seem how stupid everyone in the MK universe was. Even Raiden didn't seem to question that he was the Elder Gods chosen warrior in that walk-around game. It is just too late to correct that.
You would have to revamp him so much that it wouldn't even be the same character so what would be the point.
As for the Ermac comeback...was he ever that hated? I just thought him another ninja in the game until his more recent incarnations.
