If you don't know much about fighting styles, you can just write what weapons you'd want the characters to have. I included everyone except Mokap and Jarek since i feel that we definately won't be seeing them again(hopefully). Heres my list:

Great thread and amazing list!

I'm sure what I want each character to have, but you mentioned a style I do want to see in MK and gave it to the character I wanted to have it. Namely Tanya using Capoiera. Kai could also use it based on his MK4 moves.

I'd like to see Jade with a more kick oreientated style. And her staff needs to have more spinning techniques worked into it, just like in UMK3/MKT.

Sonya needs Tae Kwon Do. That was great on her. Your options for Shang are perfect.

Thanks man, and i agree......Capoiera would be perfect on Tanya, as well as Kai. For Shang Tsung, I think Snake fits him perfectly as does his weapon which is the Snake Spear Sword. I always thought Snake works well with him because of his personality and how he is(always deceptive and sneaky). Jade does indeed a more kick orientated style, hmm....i'm still trying to figure out what good kicking style would fit her....it was hard picking her styles because I couldnt find a good enough style for her that involved alot of foot work/kicking. I'm still lookin though.

The 3 style thing isn't my cup of tea. Maybe some of the characters can have multiple stances with special movesets accesible from each, but most should have one. Also not everyone should be ambidextrous!

lol Liu Kang having Jeet Kune Doo would be awsome hence the fact that hes like bruce lee, but i would aslo give him pao chuan (his MK:D one) just less hurtfull, i liked that stance it was cool, just hurt you when you did his moves =(

I think you mean Jeet Kune Do.

For Liu Kang, I'd say Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do since it encompasses (hope that's the right word) that of which Bruce Lee learned and applied and such.

I didn't like Pao Chui (Cannon Fist) for him because it's more of a power-based style. I see him as more of a speed-based fighter as opposed to a power-based one.
