Clearly not. We all know this story already (Would need more than just one cool twist.) And both Liu and Kung Lao had an adventure game going back. The only way i would welcome a new adventure story would be if we could be provided with different chars. Scorpion and Sub Zero? Maybe. Still they make the cut every time and their past story doesn't interests me that much. Sonya and Jax? Well i'm alright for Jax and Maybe Johnny Cage on the side of good for the old chars.

we had the good guy's maybe its time for the opposite.

a game about quan chi and shinnok's alliance. where the game starts of telling how they become the deadly alliance. something like this,

they could start with quan chi, and tell how he became the most powerful sorcerer and necromancer in the Netherrealm. than it shows how shinnok has been defeated by raiden and the elder gods and thus banished to the deepest regions of the Netherrealm. Shinnok endured constant torture from the Netherrealm's overlord, Lucifer. until he encountered Quan chi. Quan Chi would aid Shinnok in overthrowing Lucifer and taking his throne, becoming ruler of the Netherrealm. As payment for Quan Chi's efforts, Shinnok endowed him with incredible powers, making him arch-sorcerer of the Netherrealm, and made him his most-trusted servant.

from here the game starts as them being the deadly alliance.

That's a pretty good idea. Would love to see how this would go as a game.

As i stated in another thread,I think if they make another adventure game it should be the actual continuation of the current MK game. This in turn would be a great way to make room on the next fighting game for other modes and better arcade endings that can actually be cannon cinematics leading to the next adventure game. Just my opinion but it would help the actual fighting game to separate the detailed story from the fighting a bit.
