1.scorpion - when he walks he leaves a trail of fire behind him. if he hits you then you see fire effects during his combos and during his regular moves.

2.subzero - when he walks he leaves black ice behind him.if he hits you then you see shards/chunks of ice effects during his combos and during his regular moves.

3.rain - when he walks you see water dripping from his attire. if he hits you then you splash effects in his combos and during his regular moves.

4.raiden - when he walks you see sparks jumping of his attire on the ground. if he hits you see bolts of lightning in his combos and during his regular moves.

Scorpion shouldn't have those fire effects... but the Fire God or Blaze? Yes.

Why black ice for Sub-Zero? Are you assuming that Noob Saibot's ending from MKA is true and he's now (what I call) Saizero?

I don't like the water from Rain's clothes... it's just a little silly. All that splashing stuff should be saved for the Water God.

I like your ideas for Raiden though.

5.fujin. when he walks wind gusts by effecting movement. when he hits it's simlar to a vacum during combos and regular moves.

6.reptile. when he walks he drips acid from his mouth.when he hits his claws extend out more during combos and regular moves.

7.ermac. when he walks things in the enviorment levitate. when he hits, his telkinesis responds during combos and regular moves.

8.sindel. when she walks she hovers off the ground. when she hits soundwaves reflect during combos and regular moves.

right now i'm only doing movement effects and hit effects per characters. later on i'll include the more detailed stuff about the characters. hope you enjoyed.

water, fire, ice, acid, lightning, balloons..... wtf? this shit is out of hand. ok the lightning is cool, same ermac, though would be cooler if whatever material the arena floor was made of hovered just a few inches above it,(the floor) kinda like DBZ, but less intense.

1) If the fire attributes show at all it should show in his eyes and that is it i think. I would much rather see Scorpion take on a transparent look as if he were actually a ghostly spectre. I don't think he should have much effects applied to hits. Myabe instead of effects they could use lines or sound effects instead. Some characters don't need to have all the flashiness.

2) Sub-Zero should have the cold breathing going on and maybe a snow like effect...like as if it were hit or shaken of his body. the ground should freeze a bit with each step but it should dissolve quickly.

3) Rain should just look like he is all wet all the time and dripping. Also when he takes steps it should sound like he is stepping in a puddle with each step. like if he just took a swim in his attire.

4) Raiden should as always pulsate with surging lightning. i don't think there should be walking or footstep effects for him but the spark effect could work good for when hit or hitting. also add a sound like a bug zapper when there is contact.

I will post my thoughts on the others posted later and possibly edit more onto this too.

5) Wind effects are difficult to do but I would make him kinda float as he walks and his attire and hair should always be blowing around as if it were windy. along with propper sound effects of course. When hit or is hitting the sound effects should be similar to a flag snapping and flapping in strong winds.

6) I don't like the acid drool idea that you have going. I am picturing a creepy stance with his tongue going in and out like a snakes would. I liked his lizard look better than his human form but some effects depend on the form he would or is in.

7) I like what you have for Ermac...the only thing i would add is maybe a power glow similar to the look of radiation energy glow. it could be like a pulsating glow.

8) Sindel should similar to Fujin with a feminine touch to it and of course the sounds need to reflect or feedback because of her sound manipulation abilities...so i pretty much agree with you on her.

I definately like Ermac and Raidens idea. Those are cool. But Scorpion should definately have a transparent look and not a flaming look. Scorpions combos could start flaming up. And his eyes could maybe glow orange yellow or red. And I kinda like your reptile idea.

I was going to wait for acidslayer to post on Noob but...Noob is a tough one to be original with because many ideas are obvious thoughts. You could simply make him invisible and just show him as a shadow on surfaces. You could give him a shadow type trail with movements similar to the classic aggressor mode. Him being a shadow type warrior you could not give him a shadow cast on the ground or any other surface...just because he is a shadow basically. Also I think that when he is being hit that there should not be much for sound effects. Most of the sound should be coming from the opponent because if you hit a shadow the only thing you hear is your movements and whatever. I dunno,like I said before...some characters are not meant for flashy special effects and serve their purpose with just little tweaks here and there.

9. noob saibot. when he walks you can see a shadows of himself. when he hits you can see various shadows during his regular moves and combos. similar to morph in x-men where he can make duplicates of himself. this would add an extra punch or kick during his moves or combos.

10) i think Nitara should keep her wings folded around her like a cape while she is at a stand still. when she walks her wings should unravel and just hang folded up behind her. and like acidslayer says...she should expand her wings in way with the moves of her attacks. i don't like the blood drip idea unless it only happens momentarily after she does her grab and bite move. Lastly she needs some kind of special move to use her wings more...we need some flapping and swinging them like weapons kinda moves. if you have seen the movie Legion with the angel fight than that has a few good examples.

11) his whole body should smoke as if it looked like cigarette smoke and when he hits or gets hit...smoke should disperse and plume with a back draft effect. none of that cartoony puff clouds again...he should look like hes walking in a fog almost.

12) i don't care for your Quan Chi ideas...i can not really think of much to give him for effects other than using his special moves or the amulet as an effect device for the green glow but not his whole body.

13) for me kintaro should not have many effects. maybe heavy footprint sounds when he walks and a slight shake to the screen after jumps and stuff. He is a large strong character and his powers revolve around fire but i would not go with that element. too many other characters have it. not all characters need effect...i think kintaro is one of them.

14) the green soul orbs should revolve around him like you said but the age thing is too much detail. when he loses a match...souls should leave his body.

15) with cyrax i think since he seems to be the malfunctioning type...he should have like an odd electrical hum sound and the sounds like you said. the oil i don't think is needed. save the leaking for when he is hit. maybe sparks here and there when hit too.

16) i think she should just stick with much more simple effects basically almost the same as sub-zero as i explained for him previously. maybe the only thing i would do is give her hair a bit more detail with condensation and ice...with the cold breathing type effect.

I agree with colt...that was a bit harsh SIN. If you think you can do better or would change something than by all means make your own lists like I am. It shows more involvement in the thread and community rather than just being a bit rude. As for your comment about the walking dynamics...I do not see anything wrong with the idea but it is not a good idea for all characters. It is unique though.

the reason why i put every character to have an walk animation and hit effects is that many people complain when certain characters have things and other characters don't. that's like if ash from kof had a taunt and kula didn't the fans would be upset. or another example is say maxi had a soul charge but ivy didn't. well anyways you probablly get the point. my idea is just something i thought that might or might not fit into mk. so if you like it good and if you don't then i could care less. here's the next 4 characters.

17. sonya. when she walks her ponytail bounces up and down. when she hits you see pink powder effects during her regular moves and combos. similar to when she is about to kiss you that you see that pink mist or powder.

18. bo rai cho. when he walks he burps. when he hits he farts during regular moves and during combos.

19. millena. when she walks she drools from her teeth that are hidden under her vail. when she hits she growls during regular moves and during combos.

20. goro. when he walks he stomps. when he hits you see various quakes during his regular moves and during his combos.

first of all...i don't mind the dynamics for characters but some of the effects with being hit is a bad idea. i say this because it may interact badly with blood effects. i did not think about that at first myself when humoring the thought but maybe these effects could just happen with certain attacks. in anycase, i myself like SIN think that all characters don't need these types of dynamics. i do think though that if whichever character can not use that type of dynamic to use the idea in another way or give the character more sounds or whatever the gimmick may be. it is really all about making the character unique and attractive to the player. anyways...enough on that...let me get to posting my thoughts.

17) the bouncing ponytail would be fine...all though it can wave,wiggle and blow in the wind too...at least it should have some movement so it doesnt look like she is a plastic doll. as for the pink powder thing i like it but like i mention about the hits it should only be used with certain attacks. i might rather see her use her energy ring projectiles as like guantlet effects with certain hits (basically using the rings of energy around her hands and forearms). the pink powder idea is good but may cover up the blood effects.

18) see this is one character that i think does not need to much in this category because he does a lot of movement already and he makes fart noises already if i can remember correctly. if anything i would give him a new animations to mix with his current ones...maybe a hiccup sound and animation...the belching idea works too.

19) i could handle the drooling with her if the veil was not present (if this was to be than it would probably suit to use the same effect for baraka). the rest i agree with...most of her effects should be sound based.

20) I pretty much agree with this and it should be very similar for kintaro or any other large beast. as i explained for kintaro earlier...

21. baraka. when he walks he scratches his blades together making a screeching noise similar to freddy kruger. when he hits his blades extend out more during his regular moves and during his combos.

22. kenshi. when he walks his sword floats around him. when he hits things levitate during his regular moves and during his combos.

23. hotaru. when he walks his flag moves in the wind. when he hits you see various lava effects during his regular moves and during his combos.

24. jax. when he walks he punches his fists together. when he hits you see various impact effects during his regular moves and during combos.
