I would expect a steady flow of reveals across the major expos until release. Next big one is San Diego Comic Con in late July, I think.

I think one or two character trailers a month. I'm looking forward to the first story trailer.

It's hard to say because the logic of MK9's roster reveal had so little rhyme or reason to it. They gave Noob a trailer and stryker a 15-frame clip in a trailer. Why? Who knows.

I think if they reveal a new character anytime soon, it will be at EVO 2014. After that, I'm not sure.

For MK9, I think we had to wait till August, they revealed Kitana and Cyrax at a game expo following the E3 debut of the in game June.

As others have said I expect a slow reveal probably giving away one or two characters at the big conventions like San Diego ComicCon and PAX. They may not be big reveals like E3 and just shown briefly in a trailer.

I'm hoping we get a couple every month or so until release, along with some story details.

In addition to Comic-Con and PAX, Game Informer tends to be a common reveal source for MK..

The magazine revealed quite a few characters during the MK9 development campaign. I expect the same to happen with MKX.

I also expect a shitload of leaks. lol

As has been said, the next couple of months are scarce, with only the big expos and conventions getting a couple character reveals. Once the new year hits, that's when they usually take it into overdrive and start coming out one or two a month.

They do a good job of marketing, keeping interest and building intrigue, so don't expect a bunch at once or a constant stream. But it'll sure be fun as it always is, to speculate and discuss everything.

Oh jeez can you imagine if the voice/soundtrack leak happened again?

I'm guessing 1, maybe 2 a month after July. But I wouldn't be surprised if for this one, especially after the success of MK2011 and its leaks, they play some of their cards closer to their chest this time around. I expect we'll only know about 75/80% of the final roster by the time the game goes gold.

If the roster consists of the same amount of characters as MK9 they will do the same with the reveals, every week 1 character starting end of august im sure.
If the roster is smaller than MK9 my guess is every 2 weeks showing off 1 characters.

Expect some reveals at EVO in July, Comic Con in July, GamesCom in August, and maybe in September during TGS. But don't hold me to that last one. I don't think MK is big in Japan.

And maybe in November during NY Comic Con, and whenever PAX starts again.

Another good question which applies to this is do we really think there will be 24 character or could it be upped to 36? With so many different playstyles I lean towards 24, however 36 sounds sooo tempting.

The game is still a year or so out from release and Boon pretty much stated the select screen was bs(though with small hints of truth). I wouldn't be surprised if the final select screens had a completely different design, both Deadly Alliance & Armageddon ended up with different select designs from their E3 counterparts. This may or may not include more spaces...maybe 24 was just a random number they put up there for the time being, or maybe that's the amount of characters they have in the works as of now and maybe that'll increase.

I'll still play it safe and stick with 24. I'd rather be surprised instead of expecting several and getting disappointed. If we get more then it'll be a pleasant surprise.

I'm not sure myself, but, I think 24 characters is good enough...yet, there will probably be more. Overall, 28 would be an idea main roster. Add the DLC (4), and we get 32.

We could end up with 27 MK characters on main roster plus a guest character (28). We'll most-likely have another guest character in DLC.
Remember MK9? Kratos and then we got Freddy in DLC.
