I think there will be a big turn of the tables. For now it all seems like Shinnok will be the big boss just like it was back in MK4 but i think the way it'll work out in the end will (again) change everything. And, we might get a totally new story. So, Shinnok will be a one game boss if he's ever a boss. But the next game could still cover more than one game and still have ol' Shinnok as boss in the end.

Don't get me wrong, i loved Tobias when they started this franchise and i think that he could bring pretty interesting new stuff but although MKDA was pretty simple in terms of story it was my fav. Still is on all aspects. No doubt Shang Tsung will return and his Deadly Alliance appearance was awesome imo. Sort of eclipsed Quan Chi easily imo. But i don't think that all characters (Including Shang Tsung and Quan Chi) will remain like they were or have the same storyline and impact from now on.

Some still hope that NRS take their time to polish the sequel and i can't see why they would have restarted from MK1 if it was not to bring a new story in the end.

I hope they do only the fourth game in mk10 and do something that changes the story enough so we dont see another deadly alliance, deception, etc. I do wish they did armageddon right the first time as 8 feel it shouldnt happen this time. I just feel that they shouldnt redo the whole storyline, just mk1-4.
