Right now I'm thinking the game begins 25 years after MK9 and that there are a series of flashbacks that go all of the way back to MK4. That way they can kind of cherry pick elements of MK4-MKA without having to retell every single thing, as well as create an original atmosphere and new characters.

Yeah I'm feeling it's going to be a series of flashbacks as well, and it's going to keep jumping back and forth, until the end of the game where you finally put an end to Mokap's reign.

Holy shit, I couldn't contain my laughter on this one.

Imagine if Mokap is the "returning" big bad, oh god my sides xD

I think we'll see some of the MK4 storyline come to action but a sequence of events will transpire that makes Deadly Alliance/Deception/Armageddon not happen and thus a brand new path will be carved with the new characters and the new baddie.

This makes the most sense to me.

This game is not going to follow anything. Shinnok will pop up and get bitch slapped by someone else. Maybe Evil God Liu Kang who's sick of all the god's shit. Dude bro beat everyone in MK1-4. Imagine the damage he could do if he was a god. Fuck.

So yeah. Fuck the DA-Armageddon storyline. It's gone. And fuck Onaga too. Kotal Kahn would bop that fool.

I've been saying for a while now that during MK4's storyline, something will happen and things will veer off. We aren't going to follow every MK game like. MK9 did with 1-3. That was essentially a reboot and a love letter to the golden era. Now we're into a different storytelling.

The whole idea of time travel to change events, is to change the future. It'd be quite boring and redundant to play MK:DA-MK:A all over again. I expect this game to take us in a whole new direction. This time, they'll write it better and make sure not to paint themselves into a corner like they did before.

So no, I don't expect the Deadly Alliance, Dragon King, or Blaze etc. to even happen at all.

Yep, I think you nailed it JamyzHetfield. I think we'll see Shinnok's invasion, but not sure about MKDA-MKA events. I wonder if NetherRealm will even mention Onaga's return or the Daegon/Taven//Blaze story stuff. I kinda doubt it and that's fine with me.

There will be no need to mention those things since they wouldn't have happened.
