why waste resources on mini games? why not put the time into making the game look and feel better. its a fighting to the death game. so the powers at be should just concentrate on that. since MK2 its been down hill ever since. keep it simple. all time and effort should be spent making the fights look real and the death moves shockingly grusome.

I understand why you would want the focus on the actual fighting part of a game, but I think in today's market a game must offer more than they used to 18-20 years ago, when MKI and MKII came out. Now, a game must offer more and more content to stay competitive and sell, which unfortunately sometimes results in more quantity than quality. However, there are games that manage to offer additional content, but still provide a quality product. For that reason I'm not sure I'm with you to completely scrap mini-games, etc., but Netherrealm just need to ensure that these extras do not in any way impact the quality of the actual game.

i loved the first 3 games 2 is still my favorite. instead of having a conquest mode why not just have a dedicated MK RPG in a world like oblivion with all the mini games and side quests you want.
a game disk can only hold so much and a lot gets wasted on things like that chess game and conquest.

if its not broke then dont try to fix it. if they go back to basics how it stared out it wouldn't need all these extras to give it market value it will get its edge back. the technology around to day and the potential of what can be achived is nothing like back in the early 90's. and the older games still look more realistic than all th games since MK3.

They should't put focus on them until the main parts of the game are finished, but I love mini-games (Chess was pretty fun and had SOME strategy to it). Though I don't want any more Motor Kombat...I thought it was a joke when they announced it for Armageddon back in the day....

I wouldn't say scrap them completely but like others have said they should only be implemented after the core values of the game are taken care of. Oh and not really diggin the idea of a MK RPG. IMO whatever type of game genre MK decides to bleed into still needs to have fighting as its main focus

I agree. Mortal Kombat is a fighting game. The second, Mortal Kombat becomes 60% of a fighting game and 40% mini games, then the game itself is pointless. Instead of mini games, add more modes of play, take that extra time and balance the game, add the something to the fighting gameplay. Tag team mode should have been in MK : Deception. Mortal Kombat Deception's originality suffered, because the focus on mini games. I hope mini games stay far clear of MK's future.

They couldn't do an rpg like oblivion because its pretty impossible also I dont know how mk3 looks more realistic all I could see are pixels.

The gameplay did suffer for it but the konquest was cool it showed an insight on the Mortal kombat story. meh im sick of this
