It looks like Shinnok is the Final Boss & Liu Kang is in the story & playable but the part he plays is unknown , thats all we officially know .

I would hope that Liu and Kitana can be together at the end of the game. I would imagine them having an offspring.

Perhaps that offspring will come from the future and Liu Kang can be the new vessel for Onaga instead of Reptile. Just a guess.

Liu Kang being the new Onaga...both do have dragon themes so it's not far from a possibility.


I just picture Liu Kang being manipulated pervasively by Shinnok to kill Raiden (bringing justice for his death was Liu Kang's original intentions by overthrowing Raiden from Earthrealm, not killing him), kills Raiden, the power from Raiden's body emitted sucks into Liu and becomes the Fire God, he becomes uncontrollable and almost kills all of his allies until Kitana being the 10,000 year-old badass assassin she is, defeats Liu Kang single-handedly against all odds, stabs the Kamidogu in his chest that siphons out almost all of his godlike power which almost kills him, and then she jumpstarts Liu with Edenian magic a few moments from his demise. Of course Shinnok has already made his way to the Void and is beating the shit out of the Elder Gods so Kitana and all the other allies give Liu most of their chi in order for Liu to become a Fire God momentarily long enough so he can go to the Void and destroy Shinnok for good.
