This is not a posting about wanting Hara Kiri's in the game, but, more so wanting to have a better variation of it.
What I'm trying to say is that instead of having the characters ripping of their own head/limb, slicing themselves or impaling themselves, the can do a more suicidal thing.
-Scorpion can do his Toasty on himself. He burns to a crisp then crumbles.
-Sub freezes himself then falls over and shatters or freezes himself then melts.
Those are just examples. What is your take on this?

How would Scorpion do a Toasty on himself? I think that wouldn't make sense considering he can be on fire and not be burnt (MK:DA alt) and just overall be immune to fire. I guess Sub-Zero can work.
I really liked Hara-Kiri's and I hope they make a return. I thought some were pretty creative in MK:D. I do agree they can have a variation of some sort instead of the traditional slicing of limbs, and they can look pretty sick with next-gen graphics.

Hope to god these are never in another MK game.
Rob your friend of the ability to finish you?
Player 1: "Ha! I killed myself and you don't get to kill me!! lolololol"
Player 2: "Ummm...so you did the very thing I was going to do, finish you, but feel better about it because 'you' did it to yourself...? Umm, ok, cool, thanks...you're still dead."
Hopefully NRS will devote their time and resources on more worthy finishers.

I was just putting those as examples. Scorpy could still preform his Toasty on himself. Burns his clothes and the skeleton crumbles.

A funny hara kiri could be Cassie chewing bubble gum and it being an explosive one.

Given how many cues this game is taking from Deception, I wouldn't rule out the return of Hara Kiri. Hopefully they're not terrible this time if they're in.

They won't be in. They're utterly pointless. Even revamped, they'd *still* be pointless.
Besides, Boon said there was another "-ality" in MKX, and Hara-Kiris are not an -ality. Bank on either Animalities or Brutalities being in, but definitely not Hara-Kiris...

"Rob your friend of the ability to finish you?"
This is exactly the reason why i don't want Hara-Kiris in the game. But if NRS decided to bring them again then i want quick and clean Hara-Kiri. The meaning of Hara-Kiri is for me to avoid a painfull death. And to keep at least a Little bit of your honor.

I liked hara kiris quite a bit. I'll never forget the day my future wife was playing it at my house, and when she had finally won a round against Sindel, she did a hare kiri. The backflip into snapping her neck was always my favorite (so ridiculous) and the look on her face was priceless.

Hara Kiris were great, better than Friendships and Babalities. Hara Kiris would have more of a chance returning than the other two I mentioned.
I mentioned two variations of Subs Hara Kiri and sure the first one was the same as his MKD. However, this time he can melt and then we see bones and blood on the ground.
As for the "Ality" Boon mentioned, it can either be the Brutality, Animality or even a possible new one called...Mutality!

Hara Kiris were actually a great idea. Id like to see them return with some careful thought and tweaking.

I would like Hara kiris to come back, in MK:D some characters had silly ones. Would like to see them Revamped.
I also agree Animality might make a Kome back. This game seems a lot darker
I would love the suicides to come back in style!
But less head-chopping this time... (probably too much asked as Boon just loves the simple decapitations it seems)
I don't want animalities just because one character (d'vorah) is based on a wasp.
I rather see her change into a parasite-wasp like humanoid horror that lays her eggs inside the victim, flies off, then you see the wasplings eat their way out of the victims body and rapidly change into a new member of the D'vorah race.

You're an odd, strange little man...but you definitely have an imagination, I'll give you that (I thought your Quan Chi fatality idea was actually pretty wicked and appropriately-themed).
I really was never would of the Hara Kiris. They were much easier to pull off than Fatalities in Deception (you didn't have to be in a specific position on screen) which gave the loser an edge.
Plus, when I watched most of them, I just found myself saying "Why would someone do that to themself?"
And also there were just some really dumb ones too (I.E. Ermac, Sindel, Dairou, etc.)

It only impose any condition for Hara Kiri how to win a round. And Mercy could prevent the opportunity to Hara Kiri opponent.
