As we know in MKX that Scorpion has already reverted back to his human form and doesn't reside in Netherrealm anymore, so does this mean he has lost his fire elemental power or does he still retain it?

According to the comic he still retains it, however if he uses it too much or for too long he risks reverting back to his Scorpion self. I think thats how it is at least. As I type it out it kinda doesn't make sense tho considering his "Scorpion self" is just Hanzo seeking revenge for his family and clan. Its not like Scorpion is Hanzo's Hulk. Normally I'd say the writers are fuckin chimpanzee's about now but in case I'm missing part of the puzzle I'll refrain from whining.

I think that's just a conic thing. Didn't Vogel say that he couldn't get all flaming skull like he used to? And if he was in any danger of reverting to his revenant form then so would Sub-Zero and Jax.

Gameplay wise, he'll probably never lose anything but as far as the canon is concerned I think he's a human who can teleport.
Just seems to be a Human who can summon Fire, now. He`s not Shinnok, Meat or Havik. Normal Human`s can`t skelly face, so his Toasty Fatality is gone... for now...

Maybe Scorpion & Hanzo is like Noob & Bi Han. Scorpion is the Spirit of Vengance, posessing Hanzo Hisashi.

He is still scorpion, he has just over come his hatred and list for revenge to the point where he can control them. His s stem directly from that hatred, so he must tap into that side of himself to use those powers..

Hence why he does not like to use them frequently for fear of becoming consumed by vengeance once again.

Hanzo in order to tap into his full power must become Scorpion. To become Scorpion he must relive the false image of Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei murdering his clan and family. Hatred and vengeance consume him if he stays in the form of Scorpion too long and he would revert back to that form. Still no telling as to how exactly Kenshi freed him from those "chains".

This.

The big difference, and the reason why the other guys don't need to control themselves, is that they weren't made revenants the same way. Scorpion wanted to become a revenant to get revenge. It's would be much simpler for you if you read the comics as Scorpion's transformation is thoroughly explained and why he has links to hellfire.

Jax and Sub-Zero aren't powered up by hellfire. Quan Chi sticked their souls in a new body and clouded their minds. They just have to live with the memories of the horrible stuff they did under Quan Chi's control. They didn't get new abilities by dying. Scorpion's story goes much deeper than that.

Scorpion's story also happens exclusively in the comics so I wouldn't take it as hard canon. Considering Raiden's spell worked equally on Sub-Zero and Scorpion I'd say they're the same.

But it's canon, as per Boon's word, unless they decide to retcon it later. It doesn't contradict MKX either. They're both revenants. Raiden cleansed them. BUT Scorpion didn't get access to Hellfire powers because he became a revenant. He did because of the way he died. The powers are still part of him but he can only access it if he puts himself in the same position he was mentally upon his death.

Honestly, who even knows at this point. Other than Takeda being Kenshi's son being raised by Scorpion and the Shirai Ryu, the comic book has about as much bearing on the MK storyline as Dragon Age 2. I never picked up the comic again after MKX came out and it was clear that absolutely nothing that happened in the comic mattered.

Didn't Hanzo fight in the ninjutsu variation during his chapter? I forget.

I think it's pretty much established that he's human but wields hellfire as his magical ability. Also remember that not everything is truthful in the game (Liu, Kitana, Kung Lao having non-revenant skins), so overall, it may just be a gameplay element.
