He's not confirmed as playable. Going assumption is he's an NPC, but a bunch of people are hoping he's unlocked after Story mode or is future DLC somehow.

The truth is that no one knows for certain besides NRS.

If you are a believer in the leaked roster then he is an NPC.

But I am holding out hope that the leaked roster is a farse.

From what little I saw of him he looks pretty damn good, I would like to think he will either be unlockable or a future DLC character.

If he's not already in game, he's 100% DLC.

- They took the time to make his model wet in the rain. Not even Quan Chi or the Revenants got that treatment.

- Design is 100% new, never before seen.

- Was kicking too much ass.

Hope he's the unlockable but story wise I don't think he might make as much sense as Havik or Reiko unless Fujin becomes the new protector of Earthrealm.

From what we saw in the first chapter and the new look they gave him I'm pretty sure once all the characters are released from the kombat pack he will be next. Just like Martian Manhunter from Injustice.

Man, it's killing me to not watch that entire video. Everyone and their mother seems to be blown away by Fujin.

So he's the highlight of chapter one, huh? Chapter one! I really can't see following a highly requested character like Fujin through story mode as just a NPC. I took a peek at the last minute or so, and Fujin lives on!

Way too much work, dialogue, and effort given to him if he was merely going remain an NPC. There have to be plans to release him as DLC assuming he's not an unlockable.

Lol I feel ya man, I haven't watched it yet either, im trying to wait until I get the game to see that much of the story.

Fujin deserves to be in this game, if not as the unlockable fighter then as DLC.

Watched the first chapter (I'm so weak, could not resist). Fujin looks great and was given quite some dialogue and screen time. I'm really surprised if he's an NPC or skipped from future DLC.

Fujin does indeed look great in chapter 1.

However, we've also seen characters like Bo Rai Cho and Li Mei with brand new designs/models. Fujin's not alone. I really REALLY hope he makes it into the game somehow but who knows?

They would be CRAZY to not include him. To showcase him that much and not ever have him playable makes no sense to me compared to some others who are in this game as playable.

Since Ed said Tremor made it in because of a a loud and vocal group, I say we, good sir, get just as loud and vocal. lol

I swear if Tremor is the last of the character DLC...I'm a big supporter of the dude but if he seriously made it in over so many others I would rage.

If there were only going to be two kombatants it should been-

Havik/Reiko- Story relevance.
Tanya/Fujin- Two of the most highly requested characters since the game was announced.

And ideally if there was no spots wasted on guests-

Havik
Reiko
Tanya
Fujin

Glad Tanya is in, glad Tremor made it in for his fans but if that comes at the expense of characters like Fujin....

Here here. According to Ed the petitions and tweets DID get Tremor in so I'll definitely keep tweeting the NRS guys, as futile as it tends to feel.

If so it better not be Shinnok/Liu Kang, they've been fully revealed already, where's the surprise with that? Praying if there is a story mode unlock that it's Fujin.

I hope that ugly random select on the select screen is replaced by a yet unannounced character.

Liu and Shinnok have already been seen on the select screen. They wont be the unlockables. I doubt they would have already revealed who the unlockable is. They have all specifically stated that they are keeping somethings as a surprise for when the game is released...


Or more likely, when it goes gold and people hack it haha.

My guess is that the unlockable character will be whoever the final boss is. Could still be Shinnok, but I'm doubting it because he's been revealed already and you fight him in Chapter 1.

I have no doubt Fujin will be playable as DLC at the very least, he's one of the most heavily requested characters from the 3D era for sure.

Agreed, and he looks far more like a god now than in his past appearances. His design was always cool, now it's just that much better.
