Frost: Next-generation fighter like the offsprings?

To me, MK:DA took place a decade after the tournament. That appears to be the case in the comics, as Frost seems around Cassie's age when she fights her. 25 years later after MK9, Frost would still be young.

Could Frost be like Sub-Zero's unofficial offspring, if she indeed returns? Every offspring's parents are returning, so it'd make sense for SZ to be presented as the first-generation Cryomancer, and Frost as the next-generation one, even though she isn't actually his daughter (short of some serious retcon).

I know they had a rocky relationship in the old timeline, but who said offsprings (spiritual one in Frost's case) had to have a positive relationships with their parents? Maybe Frost will forcibly take over by freezing Sub-Zero and keeping his body somewhere a la Han Solo.

I like Frost. I'd be pleasantly surprised if she made it into MKX. The comic didn't really give us a lot to go on so more expansion would be good I think.

I don't care for her, but she would be interesting from a gameplay standpoint as a speedy grappler/MMA fighter with ice powers.

Let's examine old timeline for a sec.

Frost was something of a descendant to Sub-Z. She was his pupil and he was her mentor.

We also know that She and Sub-Z are related by blood lineage (but just how closely is currently unknown) because they are both descendants of the mysterious cryomancer race from Outworld (as explained in MKD).

Here's the interesting thing about that part of the comic i saw. NT: Frost has a rivalry with Cassie. OT: Frost has a rivalry with Sonya (as explained in MKDA). It's like she was destined to get mixed up with them. But that's besides the point.

I'm all for this categorisation, even if it is 'unofficial'.

Well she was the first next generation fighter in DA and I believe she could've fit perfectly with the neXt generation. I doubt she'll make the cut, but they didn't kill her off in the comic, which means NRS has some plans to possibly use her in the future. She may have some story cameo who knows? Hopefully she's not evil this go around, but she's more brash, and arrogant. Kinda see how Cassie and her would butt heads. They don't like each other, but they work together. Like I said, couldve fit the story pretty well when SubZero tells Cassie her crew doesn't listen.

Btw, isn't their a rumor going around that she's part of the mobile game. She has a SubZero costume, was it confirmed fake?

I'd hate for her to be a next generation fighter considering she's from the last generation.

She might make it in though, she suspiciously didn't die in the comics.

Plus they've already shown their encounter in the comics, it'll be cool to see it fleshed out in story mode...and even better if Frost ends up being a playable character in MKX smile

I enjoyed Frost a lot in MKDA, much more than Sub-Zero if I recall correctly. Her story has potential and the parts of her design that are unSub-Zero were awesome (mainly her hair). I would love her to be in MKX. I would prefer her over Jacqui honestly. However, I don't want her to look like that supposed mobile screen shot. It's just Sub-Zero with a female body and Frost's hair.

I still play MKDA once in a while coz of Frost. I love her frozen spiked hair with the mist coming out of it, its a truly innovative design. I do hope to see Frost again and with a cool unique design unlike the mobile one as you said. but I guess if she makes it in, that alone would be me tears of joy.wink
Wasn't she always technically a next-gen fighter?

I mean it wasn't like 25 years later in MK:DA/Deception/Armageddon since those were back to back to back but they were at least a few years after MK4.

I enjoy Frost a lot, and agree that there are a lot of interesting story and gameplay choices that could be made with the character, but if the 3D-era fighters are competing for limited roster real estate, there are other characters I'd rather see in MKX first.
