Actually,Senese is right in a sense. Ed Boon stated a little while back that MKA would be the last MK franchise with the 62 characters. He said he wanted to bring to MK, all NEW characters and a new fighting engine yet again.

We all know that Scorpion and Sub-Zero are his favorite,So most likely,They will return. But this is definitely the last mK with all the characters that we know. He said he wanted to start off a clean slate with the new systems. We will see if this is actually what he does or not in the future.

Honestly,If he decides to have all new characters,It will not even have the MK feel to it and im pretty sure that Die hard MK fans will all cease to exist. Well that is unless Scorp and Sub return. Then therefore,There will only be Scorp and Sub fans who will care.

Boon didnt say he wanted "ALL" new characters. He just said he wanted to get rid of the majority of characters that have been up and down since MK1, and then start off with mostly new characters for the next game. I assume this game will have a new/old character ratio similar to Deadly Alliance, although Deadly Alliance had an amazing amount of new characters compared to old, Im not sure if MK8 will have a bigger ratio than that, but maybe. But I imagine if there are 20 characters in the next Mk game, then 7 or more will be old characters.

For the topic, i disagree. While i do agree most people will be scrapped, many should return; he's already confirmed Scorp and Sub, so at least two old characters will be in. I think all the characters with great storyline potential( like Sareena, Kung Lao, Shinnok, Raiden, Rain, Reptile, Ermac, Hotaru, Havik, and Dairou) should return, but with a new look and great storylines.

Scorp n Sub will not be the only 2 characters in the next game, though it is likely they will be the only "classic" characters. To be honest though i cannot see the new MK being much good if they cant even think of semi decent characters to fill empty gaps with the current list of characters i mean c'mon Hsu Hao, Bo Rai' Cho, Jarek, Tanya? just a few of the worst characters in MK History... and ShinnokFan i have to disagree with 1 character there Shinnok he was the worst boss character in the game and hasnt been in the game since Armageddon which does sort of say something . Dairou couldnt return without any kind of agenda, as hotaru and Darrius will most definitely not return i have serious doubts Dairou will not unless he changes story totally. Rain has not been in the game since UMK3 so the chances of his return are unlikely also... I personally think the characters that will return are: Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Fujin and possibly Kitana or Li Mei. If they decide to use the Tenukkin Story line then no doubt Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke will return... This topic cannot really be decided until they have released what path they decide to take with the story...

first of all nobody KNOWS the next roster.. that being said only a great fool would believe that no existing kharacter is ever going to make another appearance in the future..the thread kreater can NOT be deemed incorrect when the roster is unknown..IMO, it is very likely that scorpion will return but i don't feel confident enough to say that about anyone else yet..still, scorpion will probably not be the only returner..

Who will be dead,who will survive etc.,i dont know,but i know that in MK8 all the crybaby fanboys will be bitching about stupid things like "oh,my fave character is not in MK8".

Not neccesairly Wu-TangStyle, many characters have been in one or two games and have huge potential, like Sareena for example;: only in two games not counting MKA, and has huge untapped potential.

Just because a character has been in few games dosen't mean they suck.

Hold up, Monster isn't teh final boss. He's more of a mid-boss. At least in the GC version. Scorpion is the final boss in Konquest.
