I don't Think your insane or stupid. I don't like the Idea because, I dont really Like First Person games,(Except Halo ).But Mortal Kombat could go back to Shaolin Monks Fighting Engine. But like when you press the OLD switch weapon button it brings you to a new fighting style. Fix up a New Shaolin Monks kinda. But Mortal Kombat would be OK with First Person. Not as good as the others, but still good. It would have worst reviews. But if they did it with First Person With The Wii than , It would be awesome( I dont have one but I have played one and I can tell MK would be good First Person For it). I mean think about it, You are the character, throwing punches and having it be the new Best entertainment in history(besides Microsoft). To sum it all up it would be good for Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3. But DROP DEAD SEXY For the Wii.

I would not want a FP view. The controls would be overly clunky and in my opinion sort of detracts from the essence of a fighting game from a stylistic point of view.

I guess if you wanted to throw it in as some kind of gimmicky thing that I wouldn't have to use I wouldn't care.

Midway has already done that with Bio F.R.E.A.K.S.

It would be good on The Wii.I for one think it would be scary to have some 8'2(goro) guy punching me lol.

It works well in Fight night Round 3 for the PS3. But only because it is a pure boxing game. MK needs to be fast. a FP would be too slow, and kicking and using specials moves would be awkward and ungainly.

I would leave first person combat for special situations.

Guaranteed hits or combos that you are forced to block, reversals, throws.

Each fighter would be able to trigger a first person camera depending on the types of moves they have. It would be mainly cosmetic, it wouldn't interfere with regular game play.


It would be pretty cool if there were some virtual reality goggles that you could use for first person combat. It would work with a sensor like the wii remote.

Btw, I always wanted to fight in Mk like in the "demostration" screens of MKDA, MKD, MKA, you know how the camera moves around, then change sto other views, etc, all while fighting.

Would be so much fun.

Same idea, it just flows with the animations smoothly, not slowing anything down.

I owned that game, and I dont recall seeing a first person view in that game.

That's a good idea as long as the whole game isnt in first person

The idea of MK in first person makes me want to vomit. I like being able to see my character. Kicks would be awkward as well. But I like the idea of cinematic camera angles. Like instead of sticking to the side of the characters, have the camera rotate and stuff like buddy ^^up there^^ said. Something else that would be cool, if you could replay the fight afterwards like in a sports game. And if they had some slow motion bullet time thing for you to do, like when you do something amazing they go into bullet time, or if there was a bullet time bar you could use to give you a bit of an advantage during intense fights.

if done right, it could work. if anyone has played breakdown on the xbox then you see that it's possible for the gameplay to be fast.

Im gonna have to agree with Saint Eve on this one, lol.

You could use fisrt person as a another game mode or a cheat code you'd have to put in. Like at the main screen you could have categories for different types of kombat. For one I liked the chess kombatt that should come back. back to the main screen you could have a list like this.
