I would like too see a optional first person view in MK7.I think it would be kind of cool to see Scorpion's spear coming at you,or Sub-Zero's ice flying at you. Also maybe if you get hit and like your eye gets cut, blood trickles down the screen.

I think they could use the anolog sticks for that. The left anolog for throwing strikes, the right anolog for blocks. The regular buttons would be specials and such. It is just an idea but that would be cool to use in a first person view mode.

This is an interesting idea and I like it. It'd bring on a whole new perspective in play. I think it'd cause problems in terms of knowing where to attack and when to duck and stuff like that. You'd be a little confused in knowing where your attacks were going too. Interesting idea. It could work but it'd need serious work.

I't would be sweet seeing a fatality happening in first person!
If anybody has Virtua fighter 3 on the sega Dream cast, there is an option to fight in first person.

It's kind of confusing to play like that though.

It's an interesting idea though, something could be done with it.

Bio F.R.E.A.K.S. already had this option. Iwt would definitely be different but alienated from a competent fighting engine

No first person MK. Not even as a bonus mode. VF3's FP mode is awful, and other games have tried it and failed. Besides, there are too many FP games out there now. The market is saturated with garbage that does only the smallest of things to differentiate itself from the competition. Really, this is like the platformer market of the late 80's and the 2D fighter market of the early 90's. FP Mortal Kombat would not help the series innovate. It would be a shrug sideways at best and a complete waste of time at worst.

Sorry to poop on the idea, but it's just my opinion. Maybe in a few years when everyone isn't trying to do something in FP viewpoint, but not now when everyone else is doing it.
It would be easy for them to just put it as an option.

Basically, they have to change the location of the camera.

The camera doesn't have to do every movement of your characters head. It could be stable, like if it wasn't attached to the head. Like in the DOA3 boss battle, but higher up.

It could be a wide view, so you can see the opponent's entire body.

If you get too close to the opponent, the camera would move to the side, or be behind you and your guy would become transparent.

It would be an option that only works for a 1 player game.

It'd be a nice little extra.

It'd be great in a replay of the fight but I'm unsure of it ingame.

I think we have a little chance to have BATTLE REPLAYS and then when we watch the replay to have some options like speed camera etc ...

if they did first person kombat games, then they would probably do something like a first person shooter where you play as stryker and kill tarkatans,shokans,etc.....and no one would buy it..lol

You could do this in tekken 2. I agree that it would make the game harder to play- especially judging distance, but it's just another fun option. It's easy to implement (like the guy said- just move the camera), although the controls would be hella confusing.

Other things that should be in all fighting games, are pretty easy to put in, and often aren't are:

Computer vs Computer watch mode.
Choose who to fight
"Practice" mode with infinite number of rounds
Playing as the Bosses.
