Will the next game explain more about Erron Black? He's from Earthrealm but later became an Outworld citizen.

He seems well received. If he comes back I'm sure he will have some stuff explained.

He is definitely my favourite out of the new ones and my main in MKX so I hope he is back in the next game. Hopefully ermacs ending becomes canon and Shang Tsung returns so we can see some interaction between Shang and Black possibly explaining some more of his past!

He was instantly more interesting when it was revealed in his ending that
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
he was actually a bounty hunter dating back to the American Midwest in the 1800's.
I hope they do expand upon his origins in the next game, since he was easily one of the most interesting new characters introduced post-MK4.he was actually a bounty hunter dating back to the American Midwest in the 1800's.

Yeah it's all so cool. He's 200 year old real cowboy. A very interesting contrast to Nightwolf who is also around 200. I wonder if the 2 will ever interact.

Isn't the fact that he's "mysterious" the only reason people like him to begin with?

I remember reading somewhere that he was around 200. I honestly forgot where, but I have a little proof. His Mk9 bio saids, "Nightwolf's devotion allows the spirits to work througt him, granting him unnatural long life..."
Since Erron Black is originally from Earthrealm, even if he's a citizen of Outworld, if the next game features a war between Earthrealm and Outworld, would his win counts for Earthrealm like how Bo Rai Cho victory is for Outworld even if he supported Earthrealm?

I don't think giving the guy zero back-story is an adequate way of portraying "mysterious". Frankly, it reeks of lazy writing.

I think they'll keep it vague on purpose since his mysteriousness is one of his draws as a character.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this when I found out about Erron. Yeah, it bugs me. It bugs me with Shang as well who is also from Earth. The rules seem to favor Outworld, but I guess I can't complain since they have to win ten in a row.

That was a semi-retcon. In MK3 he is depicted as a "historian and preserver of his people's culture," which implies that he is an ordinary mortal born in the present time. In MK9 he is said to be far older, but the two stories aren't mutually exclusive, since he can still be a historian/preserver. I wouldn't be too surprised if Nightwolf and Erron had had some interactions in the past.

Erron was never said to have participated in the tournaments, though. He hunted targets from the sidelines. Presumably, his role could have been similar to how Outworld enlisted the Lin Kuei to sabotage Earth in the tenth tournament. They were hired to eliminate the Earth champions and then throw the rest of the tournament so Outworld scores a victory.
Maybe when Shang pledged his soul to Shao Kahn he became the rightful property of Outworld?

Besides him being a cowboy bounty hunter, is there any "Ocelot" in this guy?
Hope they'll explain more about Erron's life and what his role is besides just being an enforcer of Kotal Kahn.
Perhaps his story will be a bit similar to Ocelot's. What if he could connect to the Dragon King or any other threat?

Erron Black has a super duper secret origin: he's really Mokap. He got hit on the head on the set of one of Cage's movies while standing in as a gunslinger and now he thinks he really is one.
Or not so much.

Do any of you all see Ocelot within Erron Black? Perhaps his story is almost different from Ocelot's.
Would it be interesting if this rumor about him being connected to the Blade family be true?

I'm curious who Shang wanted killed when he hired Black and slowed his aging process. Was this ever explained?
Couldn't be Jax, not that early. Also doubt it was any of the Kombat Kids. Unless of course Shang now magically has the power to foresee the future. (Not likely)

It's all explained in the next issue of the komic: Erron Black: Sekret Origin. It's a shocker.
