"You know" is a phrase people insert, when they don't know what else to say or don't know how to start a constructive sentence nor end it.

But, I wouldn't make a big fuss about the way he talks and such. It's sometimes hard to ignore overusing phrases or words.

At least he wasn't overusing the word "like." I hate that word more than anything else with the way how it's constantly used all the time. Like like like like like, such an ugly word.

In Canada it's more a "eeeeh" thing.
I never noticed amercians doing it.... but Boon is of the charts... it's like 3 or 4 times in one sentence.

It definitely seems like it could be a Chicago/Midwest thing. Especially when you come across people in Wisconsin and they're throwing out the occasional "don't cha know".

Everyone I've known who says "you know", say it constantly. I always noticed it to be more of an urban thing. Worked with a guy who said it all the time and he had me saying it more than I would have liked by the end of the year.
