It's obvious that D'Vorah is some sort of bug character, but which bug is she? A bee? A yellow jacket? The reason why I ask is because so far it hasn't been confirmed what creature she is.

Probably a bug(s) from another realm.

She's not one specific bug, but appears to have traits of many different bugs.

Whatever it is, I'd still hit that.

But in all seriousness, she comes off to me more as a wasp.

With exoskeleton and spider legs.

True, she's probably a combination of a bunch of kreepy-krawlies. All jumbled up to make one Outworld-bug (assuming she is from Outworld).

She's definitely an amalgamation of different insects.

I was kinda disappointed to find out she was bald. I thought her hood was her hair. Also, have her wings disappeared? I saw them in the first trailer and now I've just seen a cape since.

She still has them, but she contracts them (like her extra limbs) until they're used for certain moves.
I actually like the fact that she's bald underneath her cloak. No bad hair physics for people to whine about.

I can say that she'll be better than Cassie and probably one of the most used characters on/offline.

By golly, D'Vorah is already one of my favorite newcomers.

The insects are somewhat an original source of power, but I don't dig her look. She doesn't look anything close to menacing or intimidating. She reminds me of the Spider - queen in Spider Island.

D'vorah 's Fatality and specials are cool and her x-ray is the best so far but I hope she has an alternative costume totally different from her main one.

D'Vorah looks interesting...when I see her, I couldn't help but think of Blackarachnia (Beast Wars) + Kerrigan(Starcraft) smile

Not a fan of the bald look...

Her moves look really cool and those tentacle combos look sick.

Can't wait to try hersmile

Did you guys ever see that movie called Mimic?

D'Vorah reminds me of the creatures in that movie. Scared the crap out of me when I was younger.

I think she's just a mixture of all bugs but doesn't 'devorah' mean 'bee' in Hebrew

yes Mimic! I still have 1 and 2 on DVD, the movie also features the subway arena lol

D'Vorah is the most creative new talent in terms of character design since MK3.

Is it just me or does anyone think DVorah, facially at least, looks a bit like Apocalypse from the Xmen universe?

Well, it's only been a week since D'Vorah's reveal, and she's already spawned quite a bit of a fanbase.

Fan art is already spreading across the internet. I think she just may become the next major female character, and I think Ed Boon knew this, which is why she was the first to be introduced.

I guess there are some similarities in the face from his animated series appearance:

You post made me realise something deep. Let's take a moment to appreciate that the team has stopped naming characters like Reptile for being a reptile or Smoke for being made out of smoke. D'Vorah would be named freaggin "Bug" if it were 1995. We've come such a long way :')
What kind of smoke, is Smoke? Is he second hand smoke? Maybe weed or crack smoke? He could be the smoke of a nice campfire..which is it NRS!?

To say, in terms of story, Smoke is a codename and Reptile is a moniker because his real name is unpronounceable.

With that, I say the names are quite fitting, though I must admit that character names didn't start getting really interesting until Deadly Alliance.
