Downloaded characters for next gen!

Many of our favorite underdogs, such as Chameleon,kira,mavado,striker ect. might not make MK8. So i was thinking, why not have them be downloadable? I know this was brought up before, but i'm just pointing it out again. The downloaded characters dosen't have to have an alt. or a bio, they would just be strictly their for fans enjoyment. They wouldn't HAVE to be cannon, like i said, they'll just be their for the fans enjoyment. Like lets say i love MK8, but the only down side is that it dosen't have sonya or khameleon or whoever, i can just go to MK8.com and download them onto my memory card. What are your thoughts on this??? Like i said, i know this had been brought up many times, but its just such a good idea. And also, that could mean that your favorite character could be in every game , all you gotta do is just download them. I think that all of the characters that dosen't make next gen should be downloadable. Or new characters from mk8 that dosent make mk9, they could be downloadable in mk9. I mean, it just sound like a great idea that i think would really please fans for ALL the characters that are not in a certain mk game, can be downloadable.

It's really a good idea, but Ed Boon would have to create a website where you have the option to download characters created AFTER the game is released.

Interesting idea, but the MK team would have to do some work on it.

No you misunderstand, he means off of a website that you can access through the internet via PS3, X-box 360, whatever.

i agree, they should work on the downloaded characters after the game is released. That way they dont have to use that lame excuse "we didn't have enough time",lol. But its a very good idea i think the mk team need to really ponder about. Like you said, there should be a site that you can go to to download the characters you want.

Not a bad idea...at least, the only riff in it is exactlly that the MkTeam would have to dedicate more time to the same game....

That's a great idea and would make a lot of fans happy should their favourite characters not make MK8.

The only problem I see is Midway going to be too lazy to do this.

They Have A media center for downloads on the 360 why not get it from your system?(Which you still need internet cable for)

Well, there are many people who wont be able to, because they dont have the money to get that to download.

Guess it would suck and wouldnt be fair.

But I also guess it would be cool for those who do have it.

Well, I know it wouldn't be fair... They could make you buy it in stores like Bungie did with Halo 2's Map Pack. Or you CAN download it from a site. Though I like the Store Bought Version the Most.

Like Xbox Live Marketplace which you can access immediately from your Xbox360 dashboard.

I would not mind this feature, in fact I'd like to see more of this.

See, deadly alliance was perfect, but fans found it hard to adjust to the new characters, so with deception, midway went and brought back soooo many classics that it ruinied the revampment deadly alliace had given the series. Deception was a step back in my eyes, it brought too much classic back. There was so many classics that many of the deadly alliance characters were left out of the game, many questions and cliff hangers were ignored from the previous game........it was just they brought back too much. Now their going to do the same with MK8, revamp the series. Its a no brainer that fans are going to find it hard to get used to the new characters, but instead of bringing every body back in mk9, just after you finnish mk8, create a site where fans can go to and download characters that didn't make mk8, problem solved. That way fans can cope with the new change and take it all in a stride.

I think that Midway could definitly do a lot with the downloadable content IF tehy devoted enough time to it. They could do a thing where theres a monthly game pack that has a new map or costume or character. But that would take a lot of commitment from the mk team that might not happen.furiousfurious

You know what would be really cool, if fans had the ability to create their own characters, not like KAK, but hardcore fans with programming skills could desin their own characters, (Ie: Quake 3), and then we'd have a whole load of weird characters, but they'd have to fit a certain body structure and stature, So you couldnt have a 2 ft. doll fighting or an arachnid, and it would be like a fan submission section for the website along with other downloadables. I know who Id create, cookie monster, hed do a fatality where he gobbles up the opponent making load barking noises ala. sesame street, but none of the peices would go in his mouth, limbs and body parts would just fly everywhere.

Oh don't even get me started on KAK. If they made KAK perfect......then we wouldn't need to download the characters who didn't make it, we could make them perfectly in a KAK, and i'm not talking about some cheap generic version of the character, the KAK's should be of the same detail and deph of the real characters in the game. It should be hard to tell which is a default character from the game and who's fan created. And you should be able to make anyone you want, they should put shokans options in their and minotaurs and centaurs and a whole lot of crap.

good idea i like the downloadable stuff in games.
I suggest a petition,and start it now...so the Midway team can't use stupid phrases like
" We haven't time...it will be for next game....we're sorry but the development proceed to slowly....etc".

I was just going to type that....or something Very similar at least.

And that'd be a cool fatality for Baraka, or Mileena.
