Anyone else worried that the new generation of Mortal Kombat fighters won't be very... new? I've had doubts about this for a while. The last two games have had relatively good casts, but with the old-school characters gone, it seems like they'll just recycle a bunch of old concepts for their "new" fighters, like make a new vampire and just give him/her Nitara's moves, or a new guy who throws his hat as a weapon. MK is famous for doing stuff like this, so maybe the new generation idea isn't as great as it sounds.

I dont know man, MK has pulled through with a lot of cool new characters that are cooler than some of the original characters. Frost is freakin awesome, Bo Rai Cho is a great addition to the MK universe, MK has really needed a good funny old wise man for a while, and he is perfect. Shujinko is a good addition. Quan Chi was a very awesome addition when MK4 came out, Shinnok as well. Moloch and Drahmin are very cool and unique. the Dragon King is freakin awesome as well. and BLAZE is freakin unbeleivable, MK will always attract with kickass characters. MK will never die!!!!! MK FOREVER!!!!!!wow

Midway should look around for ideas. I have seen some great characters in the Fan Submission Forum.
