Do you think Kia and Jataaka will appear in future MK games?

posted11/30/2006 01:22 AM (UTC)byBarakaz_cuzIn case you do not know who they are:
Jataaka - (pronounced Ja-Tak-A) - is one of the sub-bosses in Shinnok's Fortress in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and a member of the Brotherhood of the Shadow. She is one of three assassins serving under Quan Chi and Shinnok, along with Sareena and Kia. They each protected a crystal, which together allowed access to a teleportation device that sent the elder Sub-Zero to Quan Chi's throneroom. Judging from Sareena's story, she also may be a demon from the Netherrealm using Quan Chi's magic to sustain her attractive human form. Jataaka fights using a sword from which she can fire projectiles. She was defeated by the elder Sub-Zero.
Kia - Kia is one of the sub-bosses in Shinnok's Fortress in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and also a member of the Brotherhood of the Shadow. She is one of three assassins serving under Quan Chi and Shinnok, along with Sareena and Jataaka. They each protected a crystal, which together allowed access to a teleportation device that sent Sub-Zero to Quan Chi's throneroom. Judging from Sareena's story, she also may be a demon from the Netherrealm using Quan Chi's magic to sustain her attractive human form. Kia fights using razor-sharp boomerangs. She was defeated by the elder Sub-Zero.
Now I would have considered these two Deadly Ladies dead, but they made a cameo Appearence in the new MKA. They appear to be still serving Quan Chi. They Fight alongside Sareena and Together they battle Taven in the Red Dragon's lair. (Why Sareena was there I do not know...Perhaps it was a clone? If it had been the Real Sareena we would have fought her like we did Sonya, Sektor, Kobra, etc.)
- Is this a hint that they will return as Fighting Characters in Upcomming MK games?
I would like for them to appear in MK Games (though I would not weep for them if they were absent...) , but I would not want their stories to be like Sareena's. Give them something interesting and innovative to do. Split them up...The last thing we need is another Noob-Smoke.
Thoughts or Opinions?

I was interested to see them in MKArmageddon konquest, I find it really cool when they bring back old things and characters from the past, even if it's just for a little cameo appearance, I like when nostalgia is somehow integrated to video games that started a while ago. having them as fighting characters in next MK is always a possibility. I just think it will be hard to give them a really useful storyline. I don't see them as main characters like a scorpion, a shang tsung , or a kitana, but they could fill the spots of characters like Mavado, Kobra guys like that. they would definetly have more value than characters like Mokap, Dairou , chameleon or meat storywise. I like the meat and chameleon characters for their look , but in the big picture they're nothing in the Mk story.

Well Sareena became her own character in Armageddon (and before that in Tournament Edition) so it's enitirely plausible that Quan Chi's remaining ho's become fightable characters.

Nice thread.
To be honest, Kia and Jataaka never interested me much at all and I don't really care for them. But yeah, if they come back, give them all seperate stories.

I would LOVE to see Jataaka appear in future MK Games, but not Kia,Kia just seems TOO much like Sareena, while Jataaka is more interesting.
I mean,i made Jataaka in MKA's KAF,and i think she would be a cool character to have,i mean, her Sword in MKM shot projectiles out of it!
Kia just seems pointless imo, shes not interesting in any way,but Jataaka is because:
A.She will be another person to add to the very small "Black Character List"
B.We dont know much about her,and she isnt as much as a Sareena clone as Kia,and she seems like the Sheeva of Quan Chi's assasins(Mainly cause she looks stronger than Kia and Sareena)
C.Boost up the Female Roster
IMO,Jataaka would be a good addition to future MK Games!

i dont think so. I think kia and Jataaka were one game wonders
I would love to see Jataaka and maybe Kia in the next game, but their konquest appearance means nothing, I mean, Sareena was there, and she left Quan Chi ages ago.. the whole thing with the three of them was just to give the hadcore retro players chuffties and that's all

No these character should never come back. I was kinda upset that they were in MKA Konquest. Sub-Zero killed all of them MKMSZ.
