Do you think it will happen?

I was thinkng, MKT is MK1, MK2 and MK3 put together, right.

There has been rumours that Armageddon is going to have the most amount of characters in a MK game yet. If it is going to be MKT2 i doubt evrebodies wish of Midway changing the engine and make the gameplay better, will come true because i think they will just keep it the same. They did not make any drastic changes to the engine or gameplay for MKT so why would they now.

More characters means more money to make. New engine and better gameplay means more money. We have already heard that it is going to have loads of characters so i doubt they will have enough to do both.

What do you think?

Heres what I really think, and Im glad you made this thread.

I Think what you're saying is that because of MKT, the pattern is MKT2.

I say Midway is better off making an MKT2. That way, the last 3 major MKs will be rapped up in one game, and it will put MK in a nice neat little rapping box.

Second, if you're saying that announcing more characters means more money for Midway, that means that they will put more characters by De Facto or in other words, defualt. And Im glad you people complaining that there are too many characters won't have it you're way (No disrespect). Yes, more money for Midway, and capitalism rules. IMO, MK needs more characters.

And the third and final point is, since the next game is looking to turn out to be an MKT2, then that will keep us more hungry for an MK8, in 2008.

Remeber this, MK needs more time to write good stories with potential.

Why not just add alot of characters this time for a trilogy like game, and leave the potential for a unique and true MK game in 2008??? That way we can play a fresh MK on next gen consoles. Any commentsgrin

Yeah but if they prolong bringing out a "Great Mortal Kombat Game" many Fans may leave in the time. It doesn't look like MK Armageddon is going to have a new engine and better gameplay because they will probably base everything around deception, then add other character from MKDA and MK4. There may be a few minor changes but nothing great i dont think. If it is like this many people will stop playing because they all want a new engine and better gameplay.

I think it is just going to be the same as MKD but with a huge rooster, and no changes in gameplay or the engine. Thus making decreasing the amount of people who want to play MK, thus decreasing profit. They are gambling making a MKT2 after MKD. THey should make a absoloutely brilliant game with better gameplay and so on, then MK would be able to redeeem itself.

I do not think Midway should risk making another trilogy style game, just for money. People tend to forget that, despite some diehard fans, MKT was a not a big success with the public. It was the first MK to get mostly bad reveiws, and was a big reason for the MK series nearly dying in the late 90's.

I think most MK fans here would rather a good new MK, with improved gameplay, and the problems of recent MK's resolved, rather than a half arsed cheaply made cash in that's only selling point is having nearly every character. If it takeslonger to give us this, I am happy to wait. If the next MK is a pile of shit like Trilogy was, I think it will be the final straw for a lot of people already disappointed by Deception, and rather than get us excited for MK8, could kill the series for good this time.
