I know a lot of people will commit suicide if they do this.

A concept so ridiculous it's shocking that I didn't suggest it first.

Reptile is causing some quarrels already, that should it be more of a reptile or a human in terms of looks....
For example I'm on the human side, I hate the MK:DA reptile, and I'm sort of alright with the shaolin monks one witch is the default look since it came out.

Not sure if NRS wants a 3rd party for this.
They pleased us both with MK 2011 (althrough the classic human reptile was only accessible via DLC and pre-order) and you can even play as cyber reptile in the challange tower, so there you go.
This is as far as they will go with it in my oppinion.

Oh I mean I was just saying due to the sheer absurdity of the concept. I'm not completely against it either but and their is a BIG BUT storywise atleast Reptile as far as i know doesn't have any connection to The Lin Kuei what so ever. So he wouldn't even be on the radar of the Cyber Initiative.

Although Half Raptor & Half Cyborg with a cloaking device sounds pretty damn legit to me. Which reminds me Predator should be the guest of MKX jus saiyan.

At the end of the day I just want Reptile's inclusion which look of his throughout the years you ask? It doesn't matter aslong as it's not MK4 Reptile. I'm personally fond of his Human look of MKII but that's rose tinted nostalgia, I also like his MK:DA & Shaolin Monks look (this game needs a sequel) strangely enough. #Reptile4MKX.

Oh there should totally be a Cyber Reptile! Centuries of loneliness and blue balls have driven Reptile to desperation and to the Lin Kuei.

After working along side the Lin Kuei and their cybernetic abominations during the earthrealm invasion Reptile demands they make him a cybernetic sex bot!

So with some biological meddling and some magic because magic always explains away logic Boom! Cyber Reptile.

If NRS was to bring back Reptile as a humanoid, they would have to explain how and why he reattained it.
I don't think he will ever be human looking again, since they stripped him of it from MK4 and on. It also would be weird to see him human again after all this time.
Taking Reptile's design from Shaolin Monks would just be a lazy thing to do. All characters get redesigned in some way.

NRS is capable of coming up with a new reptilian design for Reptile, with or without armor or clothing.

As for the main topic, I don't really see Reptile becoming a Cyborg ever. That would truly ruin his character and as he has nothing to do with the Lin Kuei.

Either he's in with a reptilian design or he's out. I think he should return with a good story and having an important role, rather than just being a lackey.

Restore him to his MK:DA glory. That was easily his best design. I wouldn't mind a raptor-like head this time around, and that tail should factor in his gameplay this time.

As for Cyber-Reptile, it could be an alternate skin, as someone already suggested. And maybe Reptile's thong could come out of his chest when that skin is selected.

You know, I just had this diabolical idea of adding cybernetic implants to Reptile's MK:DA design (with a raptor-like head). He'd look a little like Bio-Rex from the F-Zero games, with an helmet covering his upper head while his jaw's exposed.

I agree sadly.

I have always wanted NRS to envision Reptile almost like that blue chick from X-Men. Where he can cloak to human skin and then uncloak to reptilian true form at will.

But I think your right, the days for hoping that will happen are past.

That would be cool to have him like Mystique.

The only way I envision it is that somehow Reptile enlists as a Lin Kuei warrior (Lin Kuei being the only (known) environment within which a character can become a cyborg), for which I'm not sure I can find the proper reasons. Why would Reptile want to join Cyrax and Sektor? And why would Lin Kuei want to enlist him? Perhaps only if there were some "cyborg-converter" societies in Outworld, which doesn't go hand in hand because Outworld, as said by Raiden, never relied on technology. Plus, all the Outworld warriors are already pretty much powerful on their own and don't have need for enhancements, i.e. they're either inherently powerful enough (shokans, Tarkatans, Zaterrans...) or they have been enhanced already long ago (Shang Tsung).

Lastly, Reptile is already a hybrid between a reptile and a human. Making him a triple hybrid - reptile + human + robot - might seem over the top to me. If I want a complexity within a character, it should distinguish his (life) story and motives rather than his body and appearance.

Well, if Reptile were to undergo the automating process, I think it should be because of the Lin Kuei abducting him and suppressing his personality in order to make him obedient. I could see the Lin Kuei wanting all these dangerous critters like Reptile, Baraka and Motaro on their side, and the LK would probably think they could make them even deadlier with cybernetic enhancements. Sub-Zero was already a powerful warrior, but they automated him anyway, so they'd probably do the same for any creatures they abduct.

However, that wouldn't be much of a character development for Reptile. Then again, that's not exactly what we can expect for him, and turning him into a LK slave wouldn't be much different than reducing him to Onaga's meat suit.

I remember when I looked at that thing in the challenge tower and went "Goddammit, NRS. I know you're just screwing with us, but people are going to start seriously insanely speculating about this."

I'm sad I was right.

Reptile joining the Lin Kuei. Quan Chi constructing a robotic version of Noob.

Even more ridiculous than threads about cybernetic characters are the backstories suggesting how they're brought to life with no legitimate motivation behind them.

I've seen FF.net fics that make more sense.

Reptile fans would be in rage mode if that happened again.

*Hope people don't say, " Well...Reptile and Onaga were both in MKA, so it could work again"* It won't work again because they both had to be in it as separate characters as everyone returned. It was a "Trilogy" type of game.

One thing reptile is, is original. He's the first "reptile" type character in the series who went full transformation from ninja to his primal state. I would rather not have him a cyborg we have enough of those already.

I know the whole cyber idea was just a joke, but I'd rather have his monstrosity of a look from Deadly Alliance come back before I want him to turn into a cyborg.

I want him to return, whether it's his human look or a combination of his Shaolin Monk/ Mortal Kombat 4/ Mortal Kombat 2011.

MKDA or nothing else. That was the only time i ever cared for his sorry carcass. Him being the Dragon King's embodiment was kinda cool.

Otherwise what? A glorified lapdog.
