Armageddon is the best MK up to date, except motor kombat (gay) and Kreate a Krapter (KAK); which can be cheaply annoying on line. The game play is as good as it can get except a few lag issues when you get online. The combo method has been simplified comparing to Deception and Deadly Alliance which is for a better cause and the air combo is decently cool enough. The Konquest should have been longer so you could fight almost all the characters but who cares it's all about the online play. The new blocking system is pretty damn useful but it can also become annoying if over used. overall I don't care about the next MK because it's going to be on PS3 most likely so there!

Ok people, I guess this thread won't die, so let me explain a little something to you guys.

I never said I didn't like Mortal Kombat. I always have and always will like Mortal Kombat.

However, If I recall correctly, I said "IF" the next MK is not good I will retire.

Hence, if it is a good game, I will stay on and continue playing MK. Comprende?? Good. Lets pray the next MK is a good game to play.

I think that there will still be hope for you if you find the next fighting game to be crap in your opinion. Most people thought Shaolin Monks was a great addition. What I'm getting at is just because one or two of the games are bad doesn't mean the entire series should be nailed to a cross. I know a lot of bands that keep producing some horrid material, and I keep seeing people put those bands in their sigs.

My point is you're not going to hit perfection every time. None of us are. Accept that or have a disappointing time throughout life. A video game series is no different.

In MK's case, several games have had sub-par gameplay. I'd say ever since MK4, it was bad, but even so, it's fun for me.

No one is expecting perfection, at least not me. What people such as myself are looking for is improvement, namely in things like MK's gameplay mechanics.

seems like Boons team dont know what else to do with the series... when i play mk1 or 2 i get a warm fuzzy feeling.. all the classic fatalaties..imaginetive stoy line.. and a deadly sound track.. maybe its cause it reminds me of my childhood days.. midway dont give shit about the art of making video games anymore... its all about money and deadlines.. ahh well... mk8 is probably going to sux.. but ill still probably buy it...

ehh dude, Boon does know what to do with the series, its just his stories suck thats all. how the hell do you know if midway really does care about making video games? come on, the only reason why the game sucked is because when Tobias left, the stories were stupid just like when most of the creators of the simpsons left there hasn't been one good new episode ive seen that made me laugh until my organs crushed inside of me.

I Will keep buying MK no matter how bad the games are. I have to have hope that boon can still make a good MK game. I have really high hopes of MK8 Im looking forward to a fresh new start.

Anywayz, the next game is going to be all new with this "new slate" and all, so I am not expecting it to be perfect, but as long it is fun I will play, its all good and I will continue buying MK games.

I think it's not likely we will see a "bad" game from this franchise for a while actually. There's too much potential there to do something great. The only thing I can't see clearly how they will fix is the story. I know, I know "Vogel" and the MkTeams writters.

The thing I'm stuck on is that stigma our dear team has been plagued with throughout history to remain inconlcusive TOO MUCH. I think a great story will only be suggestively inconclusive. Chapters in a story end. Situations in an individuals life end. Things stop and or die. They fix this inconclusive thing and I'll more than happy enough to play this game for 15 more yrs.

I'm not the gameplay guy at all so I can't speak on that. I only have a million ideas to exploit what's already there. And then, that depends on what I/we know about the systematics of the fighting engine. So...
