I think the majority of "classics" should be killed off or retired. Most of them have gotten stale or run their course and it's time for newer characters to get the spotlight.
The only "classics" I really think should come back are Mileena, Jade, & Ermac.

I think some of the more recent "younger" characters should also return. Characters like Sareena, Havik, Nitara and a few others have good potential and it's too soon to throw them away.
Not too many though.

Aside from that...all new characters.

Very few characters from this generation should come back. But, I think the audience needs a small bit to know it’s still linked to the current story.

The one I think should return most is either Raiden or Fujin. Depending on the conflict these two have in MKA, it could go in a radical direction.

I believe that some 'classics' should return otherwise it would only be a game with the Mortal Kombat name NOT the Mortal Kombat we all know and love. Keep a few key classics (no more than 5 or 6) and then bring in some new blood. If this is the case I would believe (or hope) that at least Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden would return. Scorpion and Subby because it was mentioned somewhere that there wouldn't be a MK game without them and Raiden because he seems to be the one who links all the MK stories together.

i dont care. as long as KAK stays we can create the "missing links" but i do hope that Smoke makes it and that he gets a good story, and doesen't get the short straw again
