Chow/Chan Kang in MKX (Liu kangs younger brother)

Would anyone be welcome to the idea of Chow Kang entering MKX? If no one remembers, Chow (referred to as Chan in the first movie) ahd been murdered by Shang Tsung, leading to Liu Kang to enter the Mortal Kombat tournament to avenge his death. Only in this scenario, Chow Kang enters the games storyline to find out about his brothers killer, only to find out its Raiden in the end.

I like this idea, I feel like it would make the story a little more straightforward, because how much ground is this game's story going to cover? We have Shinnok and Quan Chi's Hellish Invasion, Rise and Fall of Kotal Kahn, the Kamidogou's, are we going to have a "Liu Kang as a God" story arc as well? Remember that Boon said the story would be around the same time as the previous games as well. Although he may just be saying that.

I would prefer this miles above "Zombie Liu Kang"...
Please no Zombie Characters....

Plus this can add to the new generation of fighters that will appear in the game.

His characters is canon outside of the movie as well, but it was never stated that he was killed...if he was, oh well.

But Chow Kang is still part of the canon.

And I did some further research...turns out Chow is deceased sad So much for that idea.

Simly put, yes! As long as both brothers play some important role in the story or they have good move sets.

Plot wise it sounds a little too similar to Sub-Zero territory.

Gameplay wise, he would have to be very unique from Liu.

I do agree than Liu Kang needs a new storyline now that he has been burned to a crisp. Though I don't believe his brother is a avenue we should go down. Bringing back another dead character has been done to death.

Going a bit off topic but I'd rather have Liu Kang come back changed, now turned against Raiden. He'd be neutral. Only wanting Raiden to step down from his position as Earthrealm protector. He'll do it by any means necessary including aligning with characters like Havok.

Make him appear only in storymode scenes. Have him be unplayable or DLC.

You know, despite that we do know Liu has a brother, it was never really stated anywhere in the 2011 story. It just talked about him being orphaned at a young age then being raised by Shaolin Monks.

Ever heard about a nice little thing called "retcons"? I do, according to several story-loving users, apparently they used a hell of a lot of these retcons and changed shit around to make it seem more... complicated... according to them.

I say, Liu's brother isn't dead because retcon.

I say, Liu's brother is becoming a fighter because retcon.

I say, Liu's brother could very well be the descendant that could replace him finally because... You guessed it. RETCON!



"Oh but Icebaby, it's been stated that Liu is going to be in the game."

Yeah and you got Johnny and Sonya as well... RETCON!

It has yet to be announced, I was more talking hypothetically if anyone were to reply with that kind of question.
