I just don;t see any progress for these characters storyline wise plus, I have never really liked their designs.

theres so many to pick out not to return for so many reasons.

Sonya, Jax, Kano, Kira, Kobra, Jarek, the whole Special Forces+Black/Red Dragon groups and storyline. Its all stale and horribly repetetive and I wish it would just go away. Not to mention some of the characters that fall under this banner (Kira, Jarek, Kobra) are incredibly sad rip offs of other media, and even worse, the same media. I rather like Kabal, but for that horrible Black/Red Dragon story to leave, so must Kabal.

Lui Kang and Cage. They should never ever return in any way shape or form. Both so boring and outright annoying, never truly bringing anything worth while to the table since MK2. Hell, until MKD, Kang has looked the same since MK2.

Mileena. Honestly how many times has she been able to fool others into making them think she's Kitana? bah.

Frost, Nitara, Li Mei, Darrius, Dairou, Hotaru, Fujin, Mokap, Shinnok, Reiko, other 'filler' types. Some of these guys look cool, and were fun, but are really only of any relevence for one game. Others I wonder why they were ever allowed into even just one game at all. I mean, all they did was give Subzero boobs and rename him Frost. At least Frost got a half decent story to her, as did Li Mei and only *just* barely Nitara, but they don't really have much point to them IMO after their one game, or two the case of Li Mei. While it could be argued Shinnok was given some story, it's all outweighed by the fact that he was a poorly designed player in every other way. Darrius, Mokap and others all fall into the 'what were they smoking?' category.

Bo'Rai'Cho. They wrote him to be an important figure throughout the history of MK, but honestly, he just doesn't come across like he is at all. Even in a genre where the cast have unbelieveable powers and abilities, all that puking and farting just doesn't really fit in.

Theres a bunch more I'd like to see get canned permanatly, for lots of reasons, but I've rambled enough. I guess ultimatly I can't really say for definatly who'd I'd like out until I know the stories behind everyone for MKA. Maybe some of the ones I've mentioned above now have awesome storylines to back them up and change my opinion on them, maybe some characters who are currently awesome will now be crap. Any character can be awesome if they put the effort in, guess we'll all find out soon.

So basically, nobody created past MK3 deserves a shot?

Well, while Bo rai cho's puking and farting is freakin hilarious, IMO, I think he should not make it into the next gen. I just don't see him having any further purpose in the story, likewise Johnny Cage and mokap do not. I could see Liu Kang coming back to MK games in one way or another but not the same story as he has had since MK first came out. That would be annoying.

Hm, does kinda look like that doesn't it, but no, not what I'm saying. I do rather like Havik , Quan Chi and some others who didn't appear until after MK3. But unless around 85-95% of the cast in general get written something more original and fresh, then they really don't have any staying power. I mean, Sonya and Kano have been around since day one, but they're stories haven't really changed a great deal at all, they're stale and boring. So very many of the characters need a serious story overhaul to be worth anything in the future. I look at Kira and all I see is a move set that makes her come out like Kano and Sonya's love child, and her story is just yet another hash on the Black Dragon. Yawn.

But like I said, maybe they've finally put in a full effort for each of the characters to give them all good solid stories, moves etc. As it stands right now, before MKA is released, theres a hell of of a lot of characters there who haven't truly progressed anywhere. Its those stagnate cases that should be either given something fresh for a change, or killed off.

Honestly the only two people i want taken out are Mokap and Stryker, i mean come on, 1 is a cop, the other is a ....ing motion capture tester. it sounds like a crappy sitcom when these two are in the picture, this is MK, not ABC, kill them.

Don't forget the movie star Johnny Cage...the three of them would make it seem like ABC, let alonme one of them.LOL

you guys are harsh!!!! I mean, who would want to take out reptile and shinnock!!? mokap and dairou i can understand but noone else....

MOCAP- What were they thinking when they came up with him? Were they that desperate for a new character and if they were they should have called me so I could of advised against him.

Bo' Rai Cho- Isn't America full of enough fat drunk slobs or do we need to turn one into an action hero.

Shujinko- His character is just too dry. I'd say try to make him young again like he was on Konquest in MKD but thats what they did for Shang Tsung and I hate repetitive bios.
