In previous Mortal Kombat games characters generally all deal the same amount of damaged with punch and kick with exceptions to special moves.

So do you guys think MKX will implement stats, so that slower characters deal more damage for the initial punch while the faster characters initial punch deals less damage.

If you think stats should be implemented, then how would you rate them. For the purpose of not stretching this out too far lets only rate Kotal Kahn, Ferra &Torr, Dvorah, Cassie Cage.

Character:
Damage (1-8%)Initial hit
Defense (- 0-3%)Initial hit
Speed (slower, slow, moderate, fast, Faster) Back Step or dash animation speed

For me its
Kotal Kahn
Damage (6%)
Defense (-1%)
Speed (Slow)

Ferra & Torr
Damage (7%)
Defense (-2%)
Speed (Slower)

Dvorah
Damage (4%)
Defense (-0%)
Speed (fast)

Cassie Cage
Damage (5%)
Defense (-1%)
Speed (Moderate)

A few things to clear up, defense means the damage reduction so in my case if Kotal hits Cassie it would do 5% on initial punch as oppose to 6%
Also remember that diminishing values will go in effect so if Ferra and Torr hits you with a 5 hit combo it would be near 18% (7%,5%,3%,2%,1%) based on a (-0%) defense character.

Personally, no. I'm very much against that, I like Mortal Kombat's "ARCADE" feel, I don't want to have to worry about stats and what not, the variation system is good without over complicating it.

I feel if they did implement that, I'd always be choosing the heaviest hitter or the one who has best balance between the stats instead of playing as my favorite fighters or who feels best to play as.

This has been basically in every MK game aside MK4.

MK1 sprites had different attributes and frames for each move you performed. MK1 Raiden had the best flip kick because of his long legs. While the damage was the same, the speed and range was not.

MK4 promptly shat on this because every male had the same wire-mesh composition with minimal differences (Subs blocky shoulders), so only specials differentiated the characters.

Characters like Quan chi, ferra torr, sub and kotal already have buff variations.

I would prefer what MK9 had in practice instead out what injustice did

Its a cool concept, but I like what they have been doing, where each character's basic attacks (besides sub bosses and bosses) pretty much deal the same amount of damage.
