Cassie: battle-hardened veteran, or teeny bopper?

I remember, a while back, some complaining that the way Cassie walked was too "girly" and that she acted more like a teeny booper than a battle-hardened veteran.

So what's the consensus on Cassie's personality? Should she behave more like some people's idea of a battle-hardened veteran, as in, some pathetically insecure Michelle Rodriguez type who needs to remind us every seconds that she's such a badass?

Maybe it's not such an issue among the fanbase now, but I wanted to bring this up, anyway.
...Some people just can't let things go, can they?

I would go with antisocial personality disorder, preferably sociopath the way she shows slight joy after putting the gum in entry wound and casually walked off.

Cassie's walk reminds me of none of that. If anything, it looks awkward as if it needs to be redone. If I had to guess her personality. She's just as tough as her mother and as cocky as her father, which is something to be expected.

Women are often more attached to their fathers than their mothers, and this probably goes double for Cassie since her mother was probably the stricter of the two. I can just see Cage saying, "please don't ever tell your mother about this." I'm guessing her convictions will be those of Sonya's, but her personality is going to be all Cage (and we're already kinda seeing that).

I hope that's the case at least. Sonya's personality has never been terribly interesting to me.

To my knowledge Cassie's age has not been disclosed but she looks like she's early to mid twenties which basically makes her ancient in US Army terms. Her being battle hardened is exceptionally easy - plenty of guys I served with in Afghanistan weren't old enough to legally purchase alcohol in the US.

Yep, when I joined the marines I wasn't even legally old enough to buy cigarettes.

It would be a nice little bit of characterization if Cassie had indeed served overseas, kind of like how Stryker's backstory was slightly retconned in Armageddon.

While I like that she's the "first lady" of the entire series, Sonya has never gone anywhere in terms of storyline development. She really went south in MK9.

Hate Cage...hate Sonya...but respect the hell out of both of them.Cassie is prob a bitch cause she's never lost a fight!!(that's getting ready to change though)
