I keep reading about the One Being in various threads, but I don't remember reading anything about the One Being in MK:D. Can someone please explain?

Yes, supposedly in the beginning there was nothingness. Not even solid Earth to stand on. The only things that existed were Elder Gods, and the One Being. When the One Being foolishly declared war on the Elder Gods...he was defeated and his body and mind and soul and everthing else was shatered into 6 realms...they are Earth, Edenia, Outworld, Chaosrealm, Orderrealm, and the Netherrealm.
It is just my opinion that the Elder Gods need to thank the Elder God Shinnok for his help in the war...

That is very cool to hear I hope it isn't the full story personally, because it kinda limits it when you just have Gods and the One Being. Maybe Ed will explain later...

It gets a few mentions in Deception's Konquest, so I'd like to think it can exist in some context within the MK universe. Even though I've never read the novel(s).
I wonder what happens if you merge EVERY realm... Armageddon, perhaps?... DUN DUN DUN!

There was an MK novel apparently, but I've never seen or read it.
Anyway, let me clear up on the One Being thing.
Before the creation of the realms, there was simply a timeless void in which the One Being and Elder Gods existed. The One Being fed off of the Elder Gods and a war was waged in the timeless void until some of the Elder Gods created the Kamidogu and used it to splinter the One Being's consciousness into the many realms of reality. How the Kamidogu were made is unknown. I don't think the One Being was the one who waged the war.
That whole "in his foolish pride, he declared a war...." thing was just from the wikipedia bio for the One Being. I'm not sure who wrote that or where he/she got that idea, but that was never stated in the game at all. You'd think it'd be more logical if the Elder Gods were the ones who waged a war against the One Being since the One Being fed off of them. How the One Being fed off of the Elder Gods and in what way is uncertain.
I hope that in MK7, they explain about these various things I mentioned as well as if the One Being has a specific gender or not and if it has a name. Also, yes, it seems this One Being is very powerful, but what kind of being is it? How did it and the Elder Gods come into existence? Do they have a purpose in their existence? If so, what is it?
The Elder Gods refuse to directly interfere with the matters that go on in the realms. Why is this? Do they fear that they might somehow get subconsciously manipulated by the One Being to restore itself whole again or is there something else to it?
Yes, I know this all sounds very mind-boggling, but I think it would help explain a lot of things.

Wow....I didn't even know such a thing existed... Well, I guess you learn something new everyday...
Either way, that's not part of the official MK storyline and I doubt that book would have anything in it in regards to the One Being.

sure, i'll explain it..
ya know that big monster at the end of the frist digimon seson, the one that looked like a 12-sided dice? or sin shenron from the end of dragon ball GT?
that's exatly who the one being is, he's the sorce of evil in the MK, the biggest threat ever.
oh well, it had to end sometime.

Mortal Kombat isn't going to end; Midway can still make money from it. Don't be silly.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate you all clearing that up for me. I'm kinda surprised that an MK book got passed me without my know about it. I might have to check that out, especially if it's cannon. Speaking of which, I would LOVE it if the MK game would add, as bonus material for MK7, a complete chronological timeline of everything that has happened throughout MK's 1 through 7, as well as the ancient history (one being versus elder gods for example). Who killed who, what events transpired during one tournament that affected things in another etc.
Regardless, thanks again for answering my question!
