Cage-Sunglasses...Your Opinions?

Johnny Cage is one of those characters in MK that people either like because of his moves or his storyline (these reasons can also be why people don't like him either). Anyway, ever since MK came on to the scene, Johnny Cage only had his sunglasses on his character select photo, his end pose, and in his ending...the same way it is in MK2. Then he was killed by the extermination squad prior to MK3, however was brought back to life for MK trilogy and so on.
Here's where I get to my theory, since MK Trilogy Cage has ALWAYS had his sunglasses on and had them on ever since then, even when he's fighting. In the first 2 games, he fought with his glasses OFF.
Maybe something happened during the repossesion of his body that caused him to not have any eyes and therefore wear the glasses all the time. When he was resurrected back to earth to fight again, he was told something had happened to his body that everything wasn't completely there and that he has no eyes.
I dunno if this it interesting or stupid, but has anyone else noticed this and ask this same question? I would like to hear everyone's opinion on this subject and give you own theory to the Cage-Sunglasses thing.
Peace.

Wow, this is exactly what I was thinking up in my Johnny Cage storyline for MK7. Something happened to him and his eyes are turned completely white... without pupils. Perhaps once Ermac's ending comes true (I believe it will) Cage will return to Earth and be found out.
This will give Cage a better purpose to be fighting. Once he is revealed to be deformed, he'll be laughed out of Hollywood and become an outcast. From here, I haven't decided where to go yet. I'm left with two options so far-
Cage realizes appearances are not as important as he once thoughts, and abandons his sunglasses and ego to join the other Earthrealm fighters against whatever may be the threat. His goal this time would be to prove to the world he isn't as shallow as they once thought he was, and become a true hero by defeating the Outworld menaces, rather than just standing around and making movies about him pretending to do so.
The second option is a bit darker. Cage succumbs to his ego and realizes he MUST have his looks back to be liked. He strikes a deal with an evil character (Shang, Quan, Shao Kahn) in which he is willing to serve them temporarily in return for his vision. Perhaps it wouldn't be anything too dangerous.. perhaps spying on his Earthrealm comrades and relaying information back to the evil person. I'd rather save fleshing out either of these theories when I actually have time to ponder them.
I prefer to keep Cage a good guy though... but with a new spark and purpose. He doesn't get enough credit, and I happen to like seeing Cage in the games. The eyeless/pupiless storyline would definitely add more flavour to his personality.

I remember a thread posted a while back that discussed on this same topic. I assumed that Cage's eye's had no pupils also, but I saw it as how Johnny Cage's eyes were all green like his aura like when he performs his shadow kick.
I also thought up of things like when he died, (before it was retconed by Vogel) that he was haunted by visions of a new threat (Onaga, way before MKD came out.) Johnny Cage would not be able to revert back to his life in Earthrealm untill he faced with this threat and put his visions to rest. Johnny Cage's visions would be of the destruction of Earthrealm, Undead Soldiers marching over the ashes of fallen Mortals, some apocolyptic visions like that.
Johnny Cage would seek out Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Raiden and tell them of the events he had seen. Raiden would already be aware of the threat and then they would venture to another realm and deal with the menace that threatened Earthrealm.
Johnny Cage's Shadow Technique would develop much stronger since his demise and he would be a more formidable opponent for Earthrealm's cause.

I really wish they hadn't retconned Johnny Cage's MK3 "death". As people on the board have shown, there are many interesting possibilities if they'd taken this into account. For MKD, perhaps his having died could have corrupted his soul in some way (his escape from the afterlife for MKT perhaps causing this), enough to fight in MKD as Earthrealm's big hope against Onaga.
Johnny Cage is my favourite character, and Mk is not MK without him, but he's not being used to his full potential. First, Vogel needs to explain WHAT Johnny was doing while supposedly dead (I seriously doubt he was making movies while Kahn was invading Earth), and then use his ressurection from Onaga as a new beginning for him. He does need to keep the light touch, and some reference to Hollywood though, this is what makes him Johnny Cage, and losing that completely would be like having Scorpion as a living human, wrong.

I like Cage, he's my favourite, and I think he really needs a different story in MK7.
By the way, your theory about Cage's turning bad after his resurrection is cool, but in MKDA he does have pupils:

so my theory was right, as always

Well, Cage's death before MK:DA was retconned completely when John Vogel took control of the storyline. Now, my idea about the pupils stems from his currently canon death/resurrection storyline at the hands of the Deadly Alliance and Onaga, which is the only time he has actually died. (Then again, they may end up retconning that as well... only time will tell).

Wow, Abismo! I guess he does have eyes!
I guess the pic you showed us reveals that, but you never really see that unless you get a closer look. Nobody knew if he had eyes since he came back in MKT because all he wore was his glasses. Maybe him wearing his glasses is something to connect with his movie star image.
However, I always had this theory that he came from the dead imperfect b/c he had no eyes! I mean, it would add more to his story. I mean c'mon...an imperfect movie star! How much better could that be for a story, knowing that he had to keep that factor a secret?
I like Cage myself but I always had that illusion that it was something that could possibly threaten his stardom b/c he was imperfect.

Ya, he needs to stay dead. His glasses are gay just like him!
I think you guys might have something going on here, but knowing Midway we will never know what will happen next for all we know ermac turns good teams up with kenshi and the "Blind Cage" gets trained to use teleconetick powers, but you know what no matter how screwed up it will get, no matter how stupid it wull be. I'm going to love every second and thrive for more
