How would you guys feel about NRS also throwing in some Mini Game modes like the ones from Deception and Armageddon, such as ; Puzzle Kombat, Chess Kombat and Motor Kombat.

Personally, I'd enjoy the extra fun content, we could see what new graphics of the next gen, even the last gen can do for the mini games. We'd have much to choose from.
Puzzle, Chess, Kart racing, Challenge tower for the base game and many more that would make for good DLC extras. Not to mention the fun you'd have playing online with these games too.

I don't see the problem with it being cheesy or over the top, Mortal kombat wasn't built around mundane and gritty realism, and besides these game modes wouldn't pertain to the lore at all, it would just be fun extras to do.

I enjoyed Puzzle Kombat and Motor Kombat a lot. Chess Kombat didn't make it for me though, at the end if someone was the better fighter you could open a straight forward line to the king and finish the game, the other 2 were a lot more fun IMHO.

The challenge tower replaced those. There are minigames within the game and I like those better. Tournament mode sounds good though.

I rather have chess and tournament modes. I want the minigames built around the fighting mechanics. I dont want to see minigames that use their own unique engines.

Chess is super fun when playing with another person in the same room, it gets really heated and intense.

I think the more minigames the better, if people dont like it they dont have to play it. many people find the minigames fun and bring extra longevity to the game

Games that focus on things other than the fighting engine gives for better diversity, sometimes people might get sick of only fighting and might want to do something different that has a different gameplay style but still is able to fufill their Mortal kombat fix.

I don't remember any kart racing, tetris or chess though.

And the mini-games that were in challenge were made exclusively for challenge tower and some people might wish to play mortal kart, Tetris and chess Kombat. The inclusion of other features than challenge tower would drawn in a more larger crowd too.

Sure you can say that Challenge tower could fit them in there, but it wouldn't work, and you'd have to break your back just to unlock that specific mini game while you can just have it separate and play it with the choice of character select and stage select like in deception.

i'd rather more characters than a kart racing game honestly. That sounds resource intensive. Something like a Tetris or chess might be a little easier. A simple interface built onto the existing game. That's me guessing I'm not a programmer. I'm not against any content and anything is possible since they update the towers. You can still play test your luck or whatever without going in the tower.

Oh and Kreate a fighter and Kreate a Stage for the final DLC would be icing on the cake or this game to. And for balance reasons, you can only make one character and one stage per profile, and maybe you can have a online mode that is dedicated to created fighters only so the regular modes won't be filled with Created characters either like Soul calibur's lobby have that problem with, and you can be able to select the created maps you and the opponent made in this mode too.

The lobby could be something like this too.

Ranked match
Player match
Private match - will include created character and stage
Join room
Create a room
Bonus
View leader boards

And when you select bonus you get these options

Created character ranked match
Created character player match
Private match
Join created character room
Created created character room
King of the Hill
Puzzle combat online
Chess Combat online
Motor Combat online
(future DLC game modes here)
View mini game leader boards

And choosing either of the three mini games will give you these options

Ranked (mini game) match
Player (mini game) match
Private (mini game)match
Join (mini game) room
Create (mini game) room

I don't think they'd sacrifice characters to add a kart racing mode.

The only mini games i want to see are the various Test Your Might style mini games that are short and can take place between matches; the Challenge Tower is fine too. Everything else is frivolous and pointless to me.

No to the mini-games (Puzzle, Motor and Chess). Even in real life, chess is boring and there is really no point to the game.

As for the ones in MK9, you had to unlock pretty much all of them via Challenge Tower, which I find was nothing but bs.

So all in all, a big NO to all mini-games. If people want to play Tetris, Kart or Chess, go buy 'em and play or download them on you computer.

MKX does not need that junk.

mortal kombat had minigames in the first MK,TEST YOUR MIGHT, which anyone back then should know how intense it was lol(spoons and game cartridge bottoms FTW)

anyone who says MK doesnt need them or that it isnt their style needs a reality check.

Thats what other games are for.
Maybe its me, but I rather have a minigame that isnt just a garbage imitation of a quality product.

For me, the more game modes the better. I liked motor and chess.

However, i found it ironic that netherealm spent so much time making motor kombat when it included a broken create a fighter and several infinites into the game.

If you're going to make game modes, that's fine, but make sure your fighting game is given priority. Luckily these days you have to patch in order to play online. That's a good thing.

When ever those came up after a match, it was harder to get the cursor over the mark. So, I used my knuckles and ended up tearing skin off and blood would appear.

I'll always appreciate Test Your Might to come back. The other versions "Sight, Strike" I'm indifferent of those. But Test Your Might is a definite yes.

However, the other mini games... The only one I want to return is Puzzle combat. I loved the music during it, I adored the mini-me's of the characters, and the special abilities were executed perfectly.

Chess combat, I don't mind it but it wasn't anything interesting and it got a tad bit boring after a while.

Motor combat was ridiculous. I hated it. I don't know what would it have been like had Armageddon not be a big flop, as well as them taking their time to make the game be great. It was literally a poor man's version of Mario Kart. Nothing about this mode struck any interest.

And hey, if they introduce us some new ones, I'll always give it a shot and see what it's like. Doesn't hurt to try new stuff once and a while, eh?
