Bosses & Sub-Bosses making the jump

I was reviewing which characters did and did not receive a bio for MKA. The main villains made up a number of this small group.

This is pure speculation, but is it reasonable to assume that the characters who received a bio (in addition to Scorpion and Sub-Zero) will be considered more than others for the jump to MK9?

I'm not expecting 6-7 villains to all make the jump and form the Deadly Alliance v2.0, but we never did find out what Shinnok's "plan" was (or at least I never picked up on it).

Thoughts?

I wouldn't base anything on who did and didn't get a bio. That was just a lazy, half assed attempt to please fans.

To stay more on topic, I hope that no villains make the jump. Don't get me wrong, I love Mortal Kombat's villains, but I've heard too many times that they are gonna start from a clean slate. When Boon says that only a few characters make it to the next one, I'm hoping that means barely any at all. Five would be too many, in my opinion.
